Jim Duquette of SiriusXM reports that the Orioles' reported interest in Daniel Murphy is "way overblown."
Andy Martino of the New York Daily News is also hearing that the Orioles are not "hot" for Murphy at the moment. The Mets are reportedly shopping Murphy aggressively and the Orioles are not set at second base, but it doesn't appear the O's are anxious to swing a deal. Murphy is arbitration-eligible for the second time this winter after batting .286/.319/.415 with 13 homers and 23 steals for the Mets in 2013.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Orioles are interested in Daniel Murphy.
Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan reported earlier Monday that the Mets are pushing "very hard" to trade Murphy, and it appears that O's are one of the teams they're talking with. Murphy would fit in nicely at second base until Jonathan Schoop is ready to take over. He batted .286/.319/.415 with 13 homers, 92 runs scored, 78 RBI and 23 stolen base in 2013.

The Mets are pushing "very hard" to trade Daniel Murphy, according to Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan.
It's possible that New York is trying to open up second base for Eric Young. Regardless, trading Murphy now is an attempt to sell high by GM Sandy Alderson, who likely doesn't fully appreciate Murphy's hacktastic approach. The 28-year-old second baseman is coming off a career year in which he slashed .286/.319/.415 with 13 homers, 92 runs scored, 78 RBI and 23 stolen bases. Murphy should net a nice return package for the Mets.

Adam Rubin of ESPN reports that it's conceivable the Mets could trade Daniel Murphy in order to let Eric Young play everyday at second base.
Mets general manager Sandy Alderson was cautious when discussing his projected starting outfield on Sunday, indicating that roles had not yet been determined and that things weren't always as they seemed. If truly made available, Murphy could net a nice return package for the Mets that would allow them to address other needs, while keeping the speedster Young in the everyday lineup.

According to Andy Martino of the New York Daily News, the Mets are open to trading Daniel Murphy this winter.
The 28-year-old second baseman is coming off a career year in which he slashed .286/.319/.415 with 13 homers, 92 runs scored, 78 RBI and 23 stolen bases. He's a very aggressive hitter though, which doesn't fit with the style being preached by general manager Sandy Alderson or the team's hitting coaches. With his value at an all-time high, he could net the Mets a solid return package via trade.
