Daniel Hudson (elbow) threw 20 pitches in an extended spring training game last week in Arizona.
It was his first live action since undergoing Tommy John surgery last July. "He feels good," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said Sunday. "The best-case scenario [for his return] would be pre-All-Star break."

Daniel Hudson (elbow) threw a bullpen session Tuesday.
It's his first since last July's Tommy John surgery. The session went well, and Hudson is currently still on track to rejoin the Diamondbacks' rotation around the All-Star break.

Diamondbacks placed RHP Daniel Hudson on the 60-day disabled list with a right elbow injury.
Hudson is still recovering from Tommy John surgery and is not expected to rejoin the Diamondbacks' rotation until right around the All-Star break. The 25-year-old can probably be ignored in fantasy drafts this spring but may be worth grabbing off waivers as his return nears.

Daniel Hudson has experienced no setbacks in his recovery from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery.
If all continues to go smoothly, he should be back in the Arizona rotation by mid-July. "Obviously, you don't want to rush it because it's such a major injury, but I would say around the All-Star break either right before or right after would be pretty realistic," Hudson said Monday. "That would put me right at 12 months, which is pretty close to average for people to recover from Tommy John."

Daniel Hudson (elbow) threw 40 times from a distance of 45 feet on Monday.
Hudson required season-ending Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in early July. He is unlikely to contribute until the second half of the 2013 season.

Daniel Hudson underwent successful Tommy John surgery on Monday.
The news was confirmed via Hudson's Twitter account: "Daniel is out of surgery and resting up for the long road ahead. Surgery went beautifully! Thanks to y'all for your thoughts and prayers!" Hudson had an ugly 7.35 ERA in nine starts this season prior to being diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. He still has plenty of promise, but will likely be sidelined until the second half of 2013.

A second opinion from Dr. Lewis Yocum has confirmed that Daniel Hudson needs Tommy John surgery for the torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
It's a tough blow for the Diamondbacks. Something obviously wasn't right with Hudson, as he posted a staggering 7.35 ERA and 1.63 WHIP over his 45 1/3 innings this year. He won't return until late in 2013. Josh Collmenter and Patrick Corbin remain the most likely candidates to fill his void in the rotation, though Tyler Skaggs could also be a dark-horse in the race.

Daniel Hudson is scheduled to visit Dr. Lewis Yocum on Friday for a second opinion about his elbow.
D'Backs doctors have diagnosed Hudson with a torn ulnar collateral ligament and Yocum is doubtful to see things differently, but second opinions are now part of the normal process for pitchers facing a potentially major procedure. The 25-year-old right-hander seems likely to undergo Tommy John elbow surgery in the near future.

Daniel Hudson admitted late Tuesday night that his right elbow has been an issue for a few starts and has been getting "progressively worse."
The Diamondbacks said he left Tuesday's outing with a forearm issue, but it's Hudson's elbow that's the problem. And it sounds like it could be rather serious. He'll undergo an MRI Wednesday before the Snakes offer an official diagnosis. Patrick Corbin was scratched from his scheduled start at Triple-A Reno Tuesday and seems likely to take Hudson's spot in the rotation.

Daniel Hudson's miserable 2012 season continued against the Braves on Tuesday, as he surrendered five runs on seven hits before leaving with an apparent forearm injury after just 1 2/3 innings of work.
Over his last four starts now, Hudson has a 13.19 ERA over 14 1/3 brutal innings. Assuming everything checks out with his forearm, he would take on the Brewers in Milwaukee on Sunday, but that is far from a certainty at this point. If Hudson requires another stint on the DL, Josh Collmenter would be the most obvious candidate to replace him in the D'Backs rotation.
