Descalso is out of the lineup Sunday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Descalso has been filling in as the Diamondbacks' primary left fielder while Yasmany Tomas (groin) has been on the disabled list, but he'll take a seat in the series finale, clearing the way for Jeremy Hazelbaker to pick up a rare start. Tomas is without a clear timetable for a return, so it appears Descalso should be in line for steady at-bats heading into the Diamondbacks' six-game week.

Descalso went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Descalso made his ninth start in 10 games Saturday, moving up to the leadoff spot with Gregor Blanco receiving the day off. Though he's only batting 8-for-37 (.216) during that run of starts, Descalso should remain a fixture in the lineup until Yasmany Tomas (groin) is cleared to return from the disabled list.

Descalso is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Descalso has assumed primary left fielder duties since Yasmany Tomas (groin) landed on the DL, but he'll receive his first day off since taking over the role. Chris Herrmann will patrol left field in his stead.

Descalso went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI during Thursday's win over San Diego.
EDGE Analysis
Descalso has now started four consecutive games and gone 5-for-17 (.294 batting average) with three runs and six RBI. He's still nothing more than a low-end fantasy option in deep settings, though. After all, the 30-year-old veteran entered Thursday with a career .669 OPS, and that includes two seasons of playing his home games at Coors Field.

Descalso started in left field and went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Thursday's 7-4 win over the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Descalso was making his third straight start, serving as the club's leadoff hitter for the second time during that stretch. With Yasmany Tomas (groin) hitting the disabled list earlier this week, it looks as though Descalso could be in store for regular at-bats in the outfield, at least when the Diamondbacks face right-handed pitching.

Descalso went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Descalso was used in the leadoff spot for the first time all season and didn't disappoint, scoring the game's first run and tying things at 4-4 in the fourth inning on one of his two doubles of the afternoon. With the ability to play all over the diamond as well as the corner outfield, Descalso is a valuable utility man off the bench, but he won't see consistent enough at-bats to provide much value, even in NL-only leagues.

Descalso will start at second base and lead off Sunday against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Reymond Fuentes failed to spark the Diamondbacks at the top of the order while Marlins right-hander Edinson Volquez spun a no-hitter Saturday, so Arizona manager Torey Lovullo will give Descalso a look as the team's table setter in the series finale. Descalso is batting just .214 on the season, but has shown a disciplined eye at the plate, drawing 13 walks in 99 plate appearances.

Descalso will start in left field and bat fifth Wednesday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Descalso was expected to come off the bench in the series finale, but he'll instead replace Yasmany Tomas in both the field and the batting order after Tomas experienced tightness in his left hip flexor prior to the contest. The Diamondbacks haven't indicated if the injury will put Tomas at risk of missing action during the team's four-game series with the Brewers to close out the week, but the versatile Descalso and infielder Nick Ahmed would likely be the main beneficiaries if Tomas ends up sitting out.

Descalso went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk in Monday's win against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The utility infielder's fourth-inning long ball, his fourth of the year, broke open the scoring and proved to be all the Diamondbacks would need in the 5-1 victory. Although Descalso is hitting just .194, he's suffered a bit of bad luck with a .196 BABIP (the third-lowest mark in the NL for any player with 80-plus plate appearances). On a more positive note, the 30-year-old's .194 ISO is a career high, and he has two home runs in his last 10 at-bats.

Descalso smacked a pinch-hit solo homer in Monday's 7-3 win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Descalso's third homer of the season capped a six-run eighth inning for the Diamondbacks. The 30-year-old is slashing just .190/.319/.362 on the season, but his ability to play all over the diamond will supersede anything he does at the dish.
