Descalso went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, an RBI and two runs against the Reds on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
He started in left field, then moved to third base and finally first base as the Diamondbacks shuffled their stars out of the lineup late in the blowout. However, Descalso is going to find time in left hard to come by moving forward, as the D-Backs acquired J.D. Martinez from the Tigers on Tuesday, and he'll immediately slot in as the starter there. That'll press the 30-year-old Descalso back into a utility role, where he's most useful to the team.

Descalso went 3-for-4 with a double and RBI in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Descalso's RBI came in the sixth inning, when he plated Chris Owings for the tying run on a groundout. After four consecutive multi-hit games in late June, Descalso went 3-for-18 at the dish prior to Friday's outburst, but he still looks to be the top candidate to pick up playing time in left field while Yasmany Tomas (groin) remains sidelined indefinitely.

Descalso is not in the lineup Thursday against the Dodgers, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Los Angeles trotting a lefty out to the mound for the second day in a row, Descalso will follow suit and retreat to the bench. Rey Fuentes will log a start in left field in his place.

Descalso is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Descalso seems to be entrenched into the starting left field role for the time being, although he'll hit the bench with lefty Alex Wood toeing the rubber for Los Angeles. Chris Herrmann will take over in left field for the evening.

Descalso went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Descalso made the ninth inning a little more interesting by delivering the three-run blast off Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen, but after walking Jake Lamb, Jansen struck out Chris Herrmann to end the Diamondbacks' threat. While Descalso is best suited for a utility job, it appears he'll hold down a near-everyday role in left field for the foreseeable future after Yasmany Tomas suffered a groin strain during his rehab assignment and is facing an uncertain return timeline.

Descalso is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Descalso's absence will be his second in the past four games. The 30-year-old has done a solid job in replacement of Yasmany Tomas (groin) recently, slashing .270/.372/.404 during the month of June. He'll give way to Chris Herrmann in left field on his day off.

Descalso went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and two runs in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Cardinals in 10 innings.
EDGE Analysis
It's the fourth straight contest that Descalso has produced at least four hits. While Descalso lacks the power most teams prefer from an outfield spot, so long as he remains reasonably productive at the dish, he should hold down the fort as the Diamondbacks' primary left fielder until Yasmany Tomas (groin) is cleared to return from the disabled list.

Descalso went 2-for-4 with three RBI in Monday's 6-1 win over the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
After delivering the walk-off hit Sunday, Descalso continued to thrive in the series finale, finishing with his third multi-hit game in a row. Descalso is hitting .262 and has supplied 13 RBI and nine runs in June while serving as the Diamondbacks' primary left fielder with Yasmany Tomas (groin) sidelined. Once both Tomas and A.J. Pollock (groin, quad) are cleared to come off the disabled list, Descalso will likely see his opportunities dwindle considerably.

Descalso will bat leadoff Friday against the Phillies, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Friday's start atop the order marks Descalso's fifth this season. He hasn't exactly been stellar at the dish, but he does have a .747 OPS against right-handed pitching. He may continue to see occasional chances in the top spot as the team rotates leadoff hitters in the absence of A.J. Pollock (groin, quad).

Descalso is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Descalso failed to record a hit in Wednesday's win, going 0-for-6 with one strikeout. He will get the day off while Chris Herrmann takes over in left field and Jeremy Hazelbaker makes a start in right.
