Corey Kluber surrendered four runs -- all of them unearned -- in five innings Saturday in a loss to the A's. The fact that Kluber was hurt by his defense could well buy him another start for the Indians, but he's not an option in AL-only leagues.

Making just his third MLB start, Corey Kluber got lit up by the Red Sox in Sunday's loss, allowing six runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings. Kluber fanned four and walked none in falling to 0-1. Kluber's now just 1-for-3 in turning in quality starts since joining the Indians rotation, and has posted an 8.56 ERA and 11/4 K/BB ratio through 13 2/3 frames. He may not be long for the big leagues. If he is, he'll get the A's in Oakland next weekend.

Corey Kluber should have picked up his first MLB victory on Tuesday, limiting the Twins to two runs on six hits over six-plus strong frames, but the Indians bullpen blew another late inning lead. The 26-year-old right-hander walked three and struck out three on the evening. Justin Morneau smacked an RBI single in the first inning, then Kluber shut the Twins down until the seventh inning. Brian Dozier led off that frame with a double, and came around to score after Kluber was removed from the game. While he still shouldn't be started in most fantasy formats, it's a nice night for the minor league veteran. He'll look to carry over the momentum from this strong outing when he takes on the Red Sox at home on Sunday.

Indians recalled RHP Cory Kluber from Triple-A Columbus. Kulber will start for the Indians in Thursday night's series-finale against the Royals and has a chance to stick around for a while in the aftermath of Derek Lowe's dismissal. The 26-year-old right-hander had a 3.59 ERA and 128 strikeouts in 125 1/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level. He may be worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues against Kansas City.

Indians manager Manny Acta has confirmed Corey Kluber as Thursday's starter. He's taking Josh Tomlin's spot in the rotation and will get a shot to stay there for a while. "He's going to get a legit opportunity," Acta said of Kluber. "So right now, Josh is in the bullpen and we're not thinking about bringing him back to the rotation unless we have to, for the time being." Kluber boasts a 3.59 ERA and 128/49 K/BB ratio over 125 1/3 innings at Triple-A Columbus and is worth consideration in AL-only formats.

Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer expects Corey Kluber to be recalled to start Thursday. A spot in the rotation was opened up after Josh Tomlin appeared in relief Tuesday. Kluber has had a nice year at Triple-A Columbus, posting a 3.59 ERA and 128/49 K/BB ratio over 125 1/3 innings. He would be worth monitoring in AL-only leagues.

Indians recalled RHP Corey Kluber from Triple-A Columbus. Kluber was sent back to Columbus on September 3 to aid the Clippers in the International League playoffs. Now that those have wrapped up, the right-hander will resume his role as a middle reliever with the big-league Indians.

Indians recalled RHP Corey Kluber from Triple-A Columbus. Kluber, 25, was acquired in the three-way Jake Westbrook trade last season. The 2007 fourth-round pick posted an ugly 5.65 ERA over 26 starts with Triple-A Columbus this season, but did average 8.6 K/9. He still has the potential to be backend starter in the major leagues, but will likely pitch as a long man out of the bullpen in September.
