Hamels (7-1) silenced the Cardinals on Friday, keeping them off the scoreboard for 7.2 innings while allowing just three hits and three walks. He struck out six in the 1-0 win.
EDGE Analysis
For the fourth straight outing, Hamels notched a quality start while pitching seven-plus innings, a feat he hadn't accomplished since early June of last year. He lowered his ERA to 2.88 while notching more strikeout than he did in any of his previous four starts. Hamels has won more than 15 games just once in his impressive 10-year career entering 2016. This year, however, the 32-year-old is on pace to bypass 15 and challenge his personal record of 17 wins in a season.

Hamels tossed seven inning of one-run ball versus the Mariners on Sunday, striking out five and walking two en route to his sixth win of the season.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander was on point Sunday, as he allowed just four runners past first base and lowered his ERA to 3.14 with his third consecutive quality start. Hamels boasts a solid 8.8 K/9 rate to supplement that figure, and he is on pace to surpass last season's total of 13 wins for a red hot Rangers club. His next start will come Friday at St. Louis.

Hamels allowed just two runs with four strikeouts and four walks across seven innings Tuesday versus the Astros. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran lefty delivered his fourth quality start in the last five outings, but the Rangers once again waited until the latter stages of the game to pull away and cost him a shot at a win. Hamels' performances of late have masked a couple of worrisome items, as he has a 14:9 K:BB ratio over his last three starts and has allowed 10 home runs over his last six. Nevertheless, he has a solid 3.32 ERA on the season and should improve upon that figure if he can get back to limiting the free passes as well as the long balls. His next chance to do so will come Sunday at Seattle.

Hamels allowed three runs on six hits, including a homer, over seven innings in a no-decision against the Indians on Wednesday. He also struck out five and walked three.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw has tossed up nine bombs in his last five outings, which has helped give him an alarmingly high 1.69 HR/9 rate. However, that will more than likely come down, as he has an unsustainable 26.7 HR/FB ratio. And despite all the homers, Hamels is still 5-1 with a 3.39 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 72 strikeouts in 69 innings. He will look to keep the ball in the park during his next start on Tuesday versus the Astros.

Hamels (5-1) surrendered eight hits, six runs (five earned) and two walks over 4.2 innings in Friday's 9-1 loss to the Pirates. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran southpaw suffered his first loss of the season, and the long ball was a big part of his undoing. Hamels was touched up for a solo shot by Starling Marte in the second, and then fell victim to a three-run knockout blow from Jung-Ho Kang in the fifth. The 32-year-old has now given up eight homers over the last four starts, and has seen his ERA rise almost a full run during May to 3.34. He'll try to bounce back next Wednesday versus Trevor Bauer and the Indians.

Hamels (5-0) allowed two runs, one of which was earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out 11 over eight innings to earn the win Sunday at the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Hamels was staked to a five-run lead in the third inning, and he coasted easily to his fifth victory. After allowing three earned runs in each of his last two outings, he allowed one or fewer earned runs for the fourth time this season, and lowered his ERA to 2.83 to go along with a 1.26 WHIP. He'll make his next start Friday against the Pirates.

Hamels (4-0) pitched 6.2 innings, allowing four runs (three earned), nine hits and two walks while striking out six against the Athletics on Tuesday. He gave up three home runs and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
After giving up just four home runs over 25 innings in April, the left-hander has now given up five in his last two starts (12.1 innings). Hamels had not given up more than seven hits in a game through his first six starts, but Tuesday was the second consecutive outing in which he allowed nine hits. On a brighter note, Hamels' 9.3 K/9 is the best since his rookie season (2006), he's inducing ground balls at a career-high rate and his 85.7 percent strand rate is well above his career average. He'll toe the rubber next against the Angels on Monday.

Hamels (4-0) allowed five runs (three earned) on nine hits over 5.2 innings, but also struck out nine and walked none in a no-decision against the White Sox on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
His own error cost him a run in the third and an Adrian Beltre error in the sixth led to another run. The three earned runs against Hamels were off two homers. Judging by those numbers, Hamels was off his game, but his nine strikeouts and no walks says otherwise. He threw 70 strikes, 18 of which were swing-and-misses, in 111 pitches. Hamels will make his next start Tuesday against Oakland.

Hamels spun seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out nine in the Rangers 5-1 win over Detroit on Friday night.
EDGE Analysis
Hamels (4-0) had to work hard, needing 113 pitches (73 for strikes), but was never really challenged as he handcuffed the generally potent Tigers' lineup. The ace of the Texas staff has been suffering through a slight groin strain which could be contributing to a bit of a decline in command of the strike zone, but he is pitching through it, and doing it well. He'll take on the White Sox in Arlington next time out.

Hamels (3-0) lasted just five innings in his return from a groin injury Sunday, allowing four runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out four, but was able to escape with a no-decision in a 9-6 loss to the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
It was his shortest outing since being acquired by the Rangers at the end of July last season. Hamels still sports a 3.30 ERA, but control issues have left him with a 1.40 WHIP and 27:15 K:BB in 30 innings and he's walked multiple batters in each of his five starts this year. He'll try to sharpen his command in his next start Friday in Detroit.
