Hamels (groin) is listed in the lineup and will start Sunday against the Mariners, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
After he was scratched from his previously scheduled start Monday against the Yankees due to a sore left groin, Hamels made it through a mid-week bullpen session without incident, so he'll be able to take the ball Sunday. Don't expect him to face a pitch limit in this one, barring any in-game setbacks with the groin.

Hamels (groin) threw a successful bullpen Wednesday and is aiming to make his next start Sunday against the Angels, TR Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hamels has been able to log bullpen sessions in two of the last three days, and each bullpen has gone without incident. He was scratched from his scheduled start Monday, but Wednesday's session shows that Hamels is trending in the right direction and could very well make his next start over the weekend. Initial reports suggested Saturday as Hamels' target date, but Sunday appears to be the more likely scenario now.

Hamels (groin) threw a bullpen session that went well. He'll throw another one Wednesday with the hope of starting Saturday against the Angels, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Based on the initial reports, Hamels appears to have a decent chance of making one start during the current week, but he will need to make it through Wednesday's session without incident for that schedule to hold up.

Hamels was scratched from Monday's scheduled start against the Yankees with left groin soreness, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hamels missed a start last August due to a similar ailment, but the Rangers don't seem to be overly worried by this latest occurrence. The left-hander isn't expected to miss more than one turn in the rotation, so while he'll miss out on a two-start week, he should be lined up to take the bump during the Rangers' weekend series with the Angels. It's unclear who will replace Hamels on the mound Monday.

Hamels (3-0) allowed just a single run on five hits and three walks over 6.2 innings Wednesday, striking out seven Astros in a 2-1 win.
EDGE Analysis
Dating back to last season, Hamels has now won 10 consecutive decisions; in fact, he's only taken one loss in 16 starts as a Ranger. It's slightly concerning that he's seen an early spike in walks -- curiously, he's issued three in each of his victories this month -- but the veteran southpaw should get that in order soon, as he's never suffered from control problems in his career. Hamels' next start is scheduled for Monday against the Yankees.

Hamels' next start was moved up to Tuesday against the Astros, meaning he will be in line for two starts next week.
EDGE Analysis
His turn in the rotation would have come up on Wednesday, but with the off day Monday, the Rangers opted to move him up in the rotation in an effort to maximize the number of appearances they can get from him this season. He's a relative must start regardless of how many starts he is on tap for each week, but now on two starts he could swing some head-to-head matchups.

Hamels allowed three earned runs on seven hits while racking up four strikeouts and two walks in a no decision Thursday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran lefty was in line for his first loss as a Ranger on Thursday before his offense bailed him out with a big sixth inning. Hamels' big mistake was a fastball he left high over the heart of the plate, which Mark Trumbo took the other way for a home run. Despite not having his best stuff Thursday, Hamels still managed to limit the damage and keep his team in the game and his ERA remains under 3.0 (2.95) His next outing is set for Wednesday when the Rangers host the Astros.

Hamels (2-0) allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out four over six innings, and earned the victory Saturday at the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Although he struggled with command issues, Hamels locked down the Angels after allowing a run in the first inning. Despite walking three batters in each of his two outings, he's only allowed three runs over 13 innings of work, and he has an excellent 2.08 ERA. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Orioles.

Hamels was announced as the Rangers' Opening Day starter Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
With Yu Darvish sidelined for at least the first month of the season as he recovers from Tommy John surgery, Hamels was an obvious choice to take the mound on Opening Day for the Rangers. Hamels had a strong second half of the season with the Rangers last season, posting a 3.66 ERA to go with 78 strikeouts against 23 walks in 83.2 innings of work. He'll square off against Seattle's Felix Hernandez on Opening Day.
