Richard allowed three runs on eight hits and four walks with five strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision Friday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Richard avoided the long ball, which has been a problem for him in recent starts, but the Dodgers touched him up for three doubles among the eight hits he allowed, and he was lucky the 12 baserunners he allowed didn't turn into more runs. His ERA sits at 5.14, but he can eat plenty of innings for the Padres down the stretch, and that's all they need from him.

Richard allowed four runs (none earned) on five hits and one walk across six innings in a no-decision against the Pirates on Sunday. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Richard allowed four runs on three hits and a hit batsmen in the third inning, but an error prior to the rally wiped his ledger clean. He was excellent outside of that inning, allowing just three baserunners in his other five frames as his side eventually came back to take him off the hook for the loss. Though Richard turned in a quality start in this one, he had allowed at least four earned runs in six of his previous seven starts and will face a stiff challenge Friday against the Dodgers.

Richard (5-12) served up four runs on seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts over six innings in Sunday's loss to the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Richard continued his recent slide, dropping to 0-5 with an 8.77 ERA over his past seven starts. Considering San Diego's 30th-ranked offense isn't going to bail struggling pitchers out often, the veteran lefty could be stuck on five wins for quite some time. His next chance to get back in the winner's circle will come next Sunday in a road rematch with these same Pirates.

Richard will make his next start Sunday against the Pirates, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw was originally tabbed for Saturday's game, but with Travis Wood joining the rotation and starting Friday night, the rotation will be shifted back a day. Richard will now go toe to toe with Gerrit Cole in the series finale.

Richard (5-11) allowed five runs on 12 hits with two walks and eight strikeouts over eight innings in Monday's loss to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
While Richard did well to work deep into the game, he never really had a chance to win against a dominant Jacob DeGrom after allowing three runs in the first three innings. The veteran is now 0-4 in his past five starts and hasn't notched a victory since June 13. It's tough to count on much run support from San Diego's 30th-ranked offense, so reversing the recent losing trend won't be easy for Richard against the Pirates on Saturday.

Richard (5-10) allowed 11 runs -- 10 earned -- on 14 hits and a walk while striking out three batters through 3.2 innings during Wednesday's loss to Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran lefty has had a few solid games this season, but overall, he's been an unreliable fantasy option. After all, Richard entered Wednesday's start with an underwhelming 4.75 ERA and 1.52 WHIP. Looking ahead, it's best to leave him to deep settings and be selective with his opponents. Richard projects to face the Mets at Petco Park in his next start.

Richard allowed four runs on a whopping 11 hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 5.2 innings in a loss Friday to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
This already marks the fourth time this season that Richard has allowed at least 10 hits in a start. In a world where home runs are way up, it's simply too hard to win consistently with a pitch-to-contact formula. Richard now has a 4.75 ERA combined with a 1.52 WHIP and just a 6.1 K/9.

Richard (5-8) allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out two across six innings, but received no-decision Friday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Richard gave up a solo homer to Tommy Joseph, and otherwise held the Phillies in check before being removed after a lengthy rain delay before the bullpen blew a 3-1 lead, costing him a potential victory. With a 4.66 ERA on the season, he remains a very risky fantasy option. He'll make his next start at a time yet to be determined after the All-Star break.

Richard (5-8) allowed seven runs on nine hits and four walks in Friday's loss to the Dodgers. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Richard struggled for a second straight outing, and he's now allowed 12 runs over his last two contests (9.2 innings) while collecting just six strikeouts. The 33-year-old currently owns an unimpressive 4.85 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, and 73:31 K:BB through 17 starts (104 innings) on the season. He'll look to turn things around as he takes his next turn Thursday against the Indians.

Richard surrendered five runs -- all of which were earned -- on nine hits across 5.1 innings of a no-decision against the Tigers on Sunday. He only struck out three and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
Richard hasn't missed many bats in his last two starts, recording just six K's over 11.2 innings during that span. The 6-foot-5 southpaw likely won't have any easier of a time in his next start, which is slated for Friday at home against the first-place Dodgers.
