Clayton Richard allowed just one run on seven hits over eight innings in Sunday's win against the Diamondbacks. Richard was pitching on six days rest after he was scratched from his start on Saturday. It was a solid bounce back effort, but he only had one strikeout and still has a 7.01 ERA over 53 innings this season.

Clayton Richard has been scratched from his start Saturday against the Diamondbacks. No word yet on why he isn't available, but Richard is expected to be pushed back to start Sunday. Jason Marquis will move up one day and start in his place.

Clayton Richard struggled again Sunday, allowing four earned run over six innings in a loss to the Rockies. It's hard to believe that Richard still has a rotation spot. He's now posting an 8.06 ERA over nine starts and has allowed 13 home runs in 42 2/3 innings. The Padres could turn to the recently-promoted Burch Smith if/when they decide to move Richard to the bullpen.

Clayton Richard surrendered six runs in 4 1/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Dodgers. The Padres' patience with Richard has to be wearing thin, as he's now given up 11 runs in 12 1/3 innings since coming off the disabled list. We'd certainly rather see Robbie Erlin in the rotation.

Clayton Richard will make his next start Tuesday against the Dodgers after pitching in relief Friday. Richard was scheduled to start tonight before finishing the 17-inning game last night. Tuesday's start was due to go to Andrew Cashner, but he's being pushed back to Thursday to give him some extra rest.

Clayton Richard, who was scheduled to start Saturday, pitched scoreless 16th and 17th innings to pick up a win in relief against the Blue Jays on Friday. It was the left-hander's first win after five losses this season. The Padres now figure to dip into the minors for a starter Saturday. Triple-A Tucson's Robbie Erlin would be on four days' rest, making him the logical choice.

Padres activated LHP Clayton Richard from the 15-day disabled list. Richard will return to the San Diego starting rotation on Monday against the Mariners after sitting out for three weeks with an intestinal virus. The left-hander is 0-4 with an 8.54 ERA in six starts this season and can't be trusted in standard mixed fantasy leagues.

Clayton Richard (illness) will likely be activated from the disabled list on Monday. "He came out of his bullpen fine," Padres manager Bud Black said. "It looks as if Clayton is tracking toward Monday." Richard has been out since May 5 with an intestinal virus. He made two minor league starts and threw a bullpen session Friday at Chase Field, and he seems to be back in good health. The left-hander had a rough start to the season, as he sits at 0-4 with an 8.54 ERA through six starts.

Clayton Richard (illness) gave up two runs in six innings Tuesday in his second minor league rehab start with Triple-A Tucson. Richard, out since May 4 with an intestinal virus, gave up five hits and no walks while striking out four. The southpaw threw 65 out of 94 pitches for strikes. It should be enough for the Padres to activate him from the disabled list.

Clayton Richard (illness) will make a second rehab start with Triple-A Tucson. Richard struck out eight over six innings of one-run ball Thursday for Tucson, but the Padres want him to have another tune-up. "He feels good about where he is right now, how his arm feels and how he feels physically in general, from the whole bad virus he contracted," manager Bud Black said. Assuming Richard feels fine in his next outing, he could rejoin the rotation as soon as next weekend.
