As expected. Wilson gave up eight runs (six earned) over five innings in Game 1 of the ALDS last Friday, but he remains the Rangers' best starter. The rest of the rotation will be set once the the ALDS between the Tigers and Yankees is decided.

Rangers manager Ron Washington said C.J. Wilson will start Game 1 of the ALDS.
No surprise there. Washington didn't confirm it, but Wilson will likely be followed by Colby Lewis, Derek Holland and Matt Harrison, in that order. Alexi Ogando will be moved to the bullpen following Saturday's start.

C.J. Wilson is dealing with a blister on his left middle finger, but it shouldn't cause him to miss his next scheduled start Monday against the Angels.
The blister opened up in the first inning on Wednesday night, but he still managed to hold the Athletics to two runs over six innings. "It's not a big deal," said Wilson. "I've learned how to adjust to it." The southpaw is 16-7 with a 2.97 ERA over 33 starts this season.

C.J. Wilson held the A's to two runs on five hits in six innings Wednesday, taking a no-decision in a 3-2 Texas victory in Oakland.
Wilson struck out eight, giving him 206 on the year. It's an impressive total for a former reliever who made just six career starts before the age of 29. He'll bring a 2.97 ERA and 1.18 WHIP into his final start of the season, which should come on Monday in Anaheim.

Bill Ladson of MLB.com reports that the Nationals "more than likely will be interested" in impending free agent C.J. Wilson.
Ladson adds that Nationals dispatched a scout to watch the lefty's start Wednesday against the Athletics. Wilson is slated to be the highest ticket free agent this winter and might command a deal north of $100 million. The Nationals might have to overpay him, but he would look good headlining a rotation alongside.

C.J. Wilson spun a masterpiece Sunday, going eight scoreless innings against the Athletics while allowing just five hits and one walk while striking out 11 in the 8-1 win.
This comes on the heels of the southpaw's shut of the Rays last week. Wilson has now won six of his last seven starts to move to 16-6 while lowering his ERA to 3.01 and WHIP to 1.17. He boasts a 2.69 ERA since the All-Star break and is now just 10 punchouts away from his first 200-strikeout season. Wilson has a juicy matchup next weekend in Seattle.

C.J. Wilson was hit on the left index finger by a comebacker in the sixth inning Thursday, but precautionary X-rays came back negative and he'll be fine for his next start.
Wilson admitted to feeling some numbness in the finger, which is surely the reason why Rangers manager Ron Washington pulled him from the start after just 88 pitches. But, the left-hander is icing the finger and should be fine for next week's start against the Rays.

C.J. Wilson registered his 14th victory Thursday, yielding just two runs on two hits and a walk while striking out eight over six innings in a 7-2 win over the Rays.
It was surprising that Rangers manager Ron Washington didn't leave him out there for the seventh, as Wilson had thrown just 88 pitches. Nevertheless, it's a nice rebound effort after the left-hander was blasted for six runs last week by the Angels. The impending big-ticket free agent will bring a 3.28 ERA and 1.20 WHIP into next week's rematch with the Rays.

C.J. Wilson allowed six earned runs over five innings Saturday night in a loss to the Angels.
Wilson held the Red Sox to four hits over six-plus shutout innings during his last outing, but didn't show anything close to that brand of confidence Saturday against Anaheim. The left-hander yielded 10 hits and four home runs while watching his ERA rise to 3.29. He'll get the Rays next.
