Tillman (3-1) beat the Yankees Tuesday by holding the opposing team to one run on five hits in seven innings with nine strikeouts and four walks.
EDGE Analysis
Tillman seems to be rebounding nicely from his 2015 season, the worst of his career since permanently securing a rotation spot in 2012. Tillman has nine strikeouts in back-to-back starts, a feat he did not accomplish a single time last season. In his six starts this season, Tillman has a 9.27 K/9, much higher than his 6.75 K/9 for his career. The velocity on all four of his pitches is up a tick from last season, but the his Contact% (75.1% for 2016 vs. 83.5% for career) and SwStr% (10.9% for 2016 vs. 7.4% for career) are currently riding at career bests.

Tillman (2-1) pitched 6.2 scoreless innings in Wednesday's win over the Rays. He allowed just two hits while tying a career high by striking out nine.
EDGE Analysis
Both of Tillman's wins this season have come against the Rays, allowing just one run over 11.2 innings while striking out 14. In four of his five starts this season, the right-hander hasn't allowed more than two runs while striking out four-plus. Tillman struggled immensely last season, but early indications are that he is poised for a rebound in 2016.

Tillman allowed just two runs on four hits and three walks over six innings Thursday against the Blue Jays. He struck out four and didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
He was actually in line to lose, but the offense bailed him out. Tillman struggled mightily through last season, and so far, it doesn't look like this year is set to go much better, considering this game represents about as much success as we can expect from him. He'll next draw the Rays on Wednesday.

Tillman took the loss Thursday, allowing six earned runs on nine hits over 5.1 innings of work against the Rangers. He struck out one batter and allowed one walk through 86 pitches.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles' Opening Day starter got through the first five innings relatively unscathed, but the wheels came off in the sixth inning when he was tagged for five runs. While his command was decent, allowing one walk, it's concerning for a front line starter to strike just one batter out in an outing. He'll have the tough task of trying to get back on track next week when the Blue Jays come to Baltimore.

Tillman will have his next start moved up to Friday when the Orioles host the Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles' move to start Tillman on Friday will allow Baltimore to use their ace against Cy Young candidate Chris Archer rather than using the less-experienced Mike Wright. Additionally, the Orioles have the luxury of starting Tillman on Friday because his outing on Monday was cut to just two innings due to weather. Mike Wright will have his start pushed back to Tillman's original slot on Saturday.

Tillman's start Monday against the Twins was limited to just two innings due to rain, but he retired all six batters he faced, striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
After taking a step back in production a season ago, even a short start like Monday's is a welcome sight for the Orioles. The five strikeouts is of particular import for Tillman, who has watched his strikeout rate drop each of the past three seasons, closing 2015 at 6.24 strikeouts per nine innings. He was scheduled to start Saturday, but things could be reshuffled after Monday's shortened outing.

Tillman has officially been named the Orioles' Opening Day starter, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It will be Tillman's third straight Opening Day start, as he'll take the mound against Minnesota on April 4. The 27-year-old went 11-11 with a 4.91 ERA last season after posting a tidy 3.34 ERA in 2014. Tillman is expected to be followed in the rotation by either Ubaldo Jimenez or Yovani Gallardo.

Tillman allowed two runs on five hits with three walks and one strikeout against the Blue Jays Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Tillman's spot in the rotation should be secure and his hip issue appears to be behind him, but this was not the type of outing he wanted to lead with in the Grapefruit League. He still has time to get some work under his belt. Tillman should be in the top three in the Baltimore rotation.

Tillman (hip) will make his second start Monday against the Phillies, Rock Kubatko of MASN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tillman has been limited by a hip issue for a couple weeks now, but now appears to be in the clear. He told Kubatko earlier this morning that his hip felt fine and the Orioles apparently agree, as they've scheduled his start a day earlier than what would have been normal.

Tillman (hip) threw two scoreless innings against some Pirates minor league players Thursday, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tillman was thought to be in line to start Thursday for the major league club, but he instead pitched in the Orioles "B" game. That being said, he fired 18 of his 31 pitches for strikes and looked good over his two frames. Barring any setbacks, he should be back with the Orioles rotation very soon.
