He's competing with Didi Gregorius for the position, and by slashing .273/.319/.364 with a pair of RBI to this point he seems to have secured the position. He offers a nice package of power and speed, and should see his draft stock increase significantly with this recent news.

However, it's clear that the Mets are looking at alternatives to giving Stephen Drew a big contract.
