Chipper Jones (calf) is out of the Braves' starting lineup for the fourth straight game Tuesday. Jones has developed a blister/welt on top of his left calf contusion, so he's unlikely to return to action before Wednesday or Thursday. Juan Francisco, who homered on Monday, will get another start in his place at the hot corner.

Updating a previous item, Chipper Jones (calf) indicated that he is unlikely to return to action this weekend against the Rays. Jones left Friday's game with a left calf contusion and is currently dealing with discoloration and swelling. "It's safe to say my career in Tampa is over," joked Jones. Juan Francisco figures to fill in at third base this weekend.

Chipper Jones is not in the Braves' starting lineup Wednesday against the Marlins. The Braves are in the midst of playing 20 games in 20 days, so the 40-year-old Jones will continue to get sporadic rest. Juan Francisco will make the start at the hot corner Wednesday and hit eighth against southpaw Mark Buehrle.

Chipper Jones is expected to receive a day off Sunday. Chipper fouled a ball off his right foot in the fifth inning and also stung his fingers when he hit a ball off the end of the bat in the ninth. "Rough night," said Jones. "I couldn't feel any of my fingers. It was like I had a beehive right here. If it was a cartoon, you know how when the cartoons get their hand slammed in the door? That was me." Jones had played three games in a row in Chicago for only the second time this season, and his surgically-repaired knee is feeling better, but with the Braves in the midst of playing 20 games in 20 days, he'll need some time off to stay fresh.

Chipper Jones is in the Braves' starting lineup for the third straight day Wednesday. It's a bit of a surprise to see Jones in the lineup for Wednesday's matinee, but the veteran third baseman has indicated that his surgically-repaired left knee is improving. The 40-year-old is hitting .311/.358/.554 with five homers, 21 RBI and a .912 OPS across 81 plate appearances this year and is well worth using in mixed leagues while he's healthy.

Chipper Jones went 3-for-6 and drove in five of Atlanta's 13 runs Saturday in a win over the Rockies. Jones had an RBI double in the fifth, a two-run single in the sixth and then another two-run single in the seventh as the Braves overcame a 6-0 deficit to win 13-9. It was the 18th career five-RBI game in Chipper's career and first since last June 16.

Chipper Jones' walkoff two-run homer against Brian Sanches in the 11th inning gave the Braves a 15-13 victory in a wild game Wednesday at Turner Field. Chipper finished 3-for-6 with three runs scored and two RBI. The homer was already his fourth of the season, and he's now driven in 14 runs. On a night where Carlos Ruiz drove home seven runs and Brian McCann slugged a grand slam, it was good old Larry Wayne who stole the show and delivered the most crucial hit. Even at 40 years old, there's plenty of magic left in his bat.
