Chipper Jones admits that he'll have to make a daily decision on whether or not his knee will allow him to play.
Chipper is playing Wednesday, but he sat out two of the previous four games before that. "I told (Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez) if my knee feels good, I want to play," said Jones. "It felt good the last day against Pittsburgh, and it felt really bad (Tuesday). It bounced back, it feels good today, so back in there." Jones has begun a new weight-training program to strengthen the muscles around his knee in hopes of limiting the swelling and joint pain. "Whenever you get fluid in the joint, the muscles around it shut down, they atrophy," Jones said. "You've got weak knees and Bubba (trainer Jeff Porter) told me I wouldn't make it to the All-Star break if I didn't get on some kind of weight program."

Chipper Jones was not in Tuesday's lineup because his surgically-repaired knee was bothering him again.
He's back in the lineup Wednesday, but it sounds like this is something that Chipper will have to deal with off and on for a while. Of course, him battling bumps and bruises is nothing new. The future Hall of Famer is batting .245/.309/.449 with three homers and 12 RBI over 49 at-bats this season.

Chipper Jones continued his hot-hitting ways, going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI in the Braves 6-1 victory over the Pirates on Friday.
Chipper has always been able to produce when he's in the lineup, and he hasn't disappointed in the early going this year. He's hitting a cool .300 with three homers and 10 RBI in his limited at-bats this season. While Juan Francisco is a capable fill-in while Chipper is hurt, he's still the man when he's able to play.

Updating a previous item, Chipper Jones (knee) expects to return to the starting lineup Friday.
Jones dealt with some swelling in his surgically-repaired left knee on the flight to Arizona, so he won't play Thursday, but he doesn't need it drained this time. It's a day-to-day situation.

Chipper Jones is dealing with some soreness in his surgically-repaired left knee after playing three straight days.
Jones is not in the lineup Wednesday, which is understandable given the early start time. He plans to wrap the knee to keep swelling down during Wednesday's flight to Arizona. As of now, he appears likely to play Thursday night against the D-Backs.

Chipper Jones is not in Wednesday's lineup.
Not surprising with the day game after the night game. Juan Francisco, who homered last night, will make the start at third base while Jason Heyward will slide down to the third spot in the order with Martin Prado back in the lineup hitting No. 2.

Chipper Jones (knee) hit a three-run homer Sunday in his return to the Braves' starting lineup.
Jones sat out of Saturday's game after getting his surgically-repaired left knee drained. He'll have to miss days here and there throughout the year, but there's little doubt that the veteran third baseman can still rake. Chipper holds some lingering fantasy value in deep mixed leagues.

Chipper Jones (knee) returned to the lineup Sunday.
"It's the best it's felt in three days," Jones said. "Range of motion is good." Jones had his knee drained Friday and is just two weeks removed from surgery. He'll likely be eased back initially, but should produce when he's in the lineup.
