Anderson (0-1) took the loss Tuesday, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings as the Phillies fell 8-4 to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander didn't pitch badly while throwing 49 of 80 pitches for strikes and only made one real mistake, which Dominic Smith deposited in the seats for a two-run shot, but the Phillies weren't able to level the score and take him off the hook for the loss after initially falling behind in the fourth inning. Anderson lines up for a road rematch with the Mets in his next outing set for Monday.

Manager Joe Girardi said Anderson will start the Phillies' fifth game of the season April 6 against the Mets, Pat Gallen of CBS 3 Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson and fellow Phillies newcomer Matt Moore were able to secure the final two spots in the rotation over Vince Velasquez, who will begin the season in the bullpen. The 33-year-old posted a career-best 10.7 K/9 for the Blue Jays in 2020, but he was hit hard when he wasn't making bats miss, giving up 45 hits -- including 11 home runs -- in 33.2 innings. While he held batters to a .157 average this spring, Anderson still served up two home runs in 14.2 innings. He looks like a less-than-ideal streaming option against a Mets squad that boasts one of baseball's more potent lineups from top to bottom.

Anderson signed a one-year, $4 million contract with the Phillies on Wednesday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson's $9.5 million contract option was declined by the Blue Jays in late October, but he's now agreed to terms with Philadelphia ahead of the 2021 campaign. The righty posted a career-worst 7.22 ERA and 1.63 WHIP over 33.2 innings with the Blue Jays in 2020 and will attempt to return to form in 2021 after recording a 3.83 ERA over four seasons with Milwaukee. He should be one of several pitchers competing for a back-end rotation spot with the Phillies during spring training.

Anderson had his $9.5 million club option for 2021 declined by the Blue Jays on Friday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander struggled in 2020 with a 7.22 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 38:10 K:BB over 33.2 innings after beginning the season with an injury, so it's not much of a surprise Toronto opted to pay the $500,000 buyout. Anderson had a 3.63 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 82 starts over the previous three seasons with the Brewers before being traded, so he should at least earn a look from someone for spring training.

Anderson (1-2) picked up the win in Saturday's 5-2 victory over the Orioles, giving up one hit over two scoreless innings of relief. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Entering the game in the sixth inning after T.J. Zeuch had blanked the O's for five frames, Anderson kept the shutout going and was rewarded for his efforts when Cavan Biggio gave the Jays the lead with a solo shot. While he was able to end the regular season on a high note, Anderson had a rough first campaign with Toronto, posting a 7.22 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 38:10 K:BB over 33.2 innings.

Anderson will be available out of the bullpen Tuesday and won't start Wednesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson has struggled mightily in each of his last three starts, and he'll be moved to a bullpen role, presumably for the remainder of the regular season and for the postseason. Robbie Ray will start in his place Wednesday with Hyun-Jin Ryu taking the mound Thursday.

Anderson (0-2) took the loss Thursday as the Blue Jays fell 10-7 to the Yankees, coughing up seven runs on eight hits -- including an incredible five home runs -- and a walk over 2.2 innings of relief. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Entering the game after opener Julian Merryweather allowed two runs in the first inning, Anderson tossed a couple of clean frames before a disastrous fourth in which the Yankees posted their first five-homer inning in franchise history, en route to becoming the first team in MLB history to slug six or more homers in three straight games. Anderson's next outing is also scheduled to come against the Yankees back in Buffalo on Tuesday, but his 7.45 ERA and 1.72 WHIP through 29 innings this season don't inspire much confidence that he's ready for a rematch.

Anderson will work behind an opener Thursday against the Yankees, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander was slated to make a traditional start Thursday, but Julian Merryweather has now been tabbed as the opener. Anderson has started in all seven of his outings this season and has a 5.81 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 25:8 K:BB over 26.1 innings.

Anderson (0-1) allowed four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over 2.2 innings as he was charged with the loss Friday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson has struggled mightily in his last two starts, and he picked up his first decision of the season in Friday's 18-1 loss. The right-hander hasn't lasted longer than five innings in any of his seven starts in 2020 as he carries a 5.81 ERA and 1.56 WHIP through 26.1 innings. He'll attempt to right the ship on the road Thursday against the Yankees.

Anderson gave up six runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three over four innings versus the Red Sox on Saturday. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Four of the six runs charged to Anderson came on three homers in the second inning. He also allowed a two-run double to Rafael Devers in the fourth. Anderson has yet to record a result is six starts this year, but Saturday was by far his worst performance. The right-hander now has a 4.94 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 21 strikeouts across 23.2 innings. He'll try to keep the ball in the yard Friday versus the Mets.
