Anderson allowed a run on three hits while fanning eight across five innings pitched in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Orioles. He did not factor in the decision and did not issue a walk.
EDGE Analysis
The Jays were careful with Anderson once again, pulling him after five innings and 84 pitches despite the right-hander appearing to be in full control. The 32-year-old's eight strike outs shattered his previous season-high of three. He was in line to pick up his first win after Toronto took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth, but had to settle for his fifth consecutive no-decision after the Orioles tied the game in the sixth. Nonetheless, it was Anderson's best start of the season and he will look to keep his momentum going Sunday in Boston.

Anderson didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 9-7 loss to the Red Sox, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk over five-plus innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Staked to a 4-0 lead after the first inning, Anderson was reasonably effective through five frames, but after he walked the leadoff batter in the sixth manager Charlie Montoyo gave him the hook, and Anderson could only watch as the bullpen melted down for six runs. The right-hander did throw a season-high 83 pitches (55 strikes) and completed five innings for the first time, but with the Jays being extra-cautious right now with their remaining healthy starters, that might be about Anderson's limit. He'll take a 3.68 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB through 14.2 innings into his next outing Sunday, at home against the Orioles.

Anderson allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk across 3.2 innings pitched in the 3-2 win over the Phillies in Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Thursday marked yet another short start for Anderson as he continues to build up arm strength after missing the beginning of the season with an oblique strain. After tossing 45 and 59 pitches respectively in his first two outings, the 32-year-old upped his pitch count to 78 (44 strikes) while working into the fourth inning for the first time Thursday. Anderson will look to work deeper into the game and pick up his first win when he takes the ball Tuesday against Boston.

Anderson hurled three innings against Tampa Bay on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits while striking out three. The game was suspended due to rain.
EDGE Analysis
After throwing 45 pitches in his season debut, Anderson hurled 59 on Saturday, 39 of which were strikes. He yielded only one extra-base hit in his three frames -- a solo home run to Austin Meadows in the third inning. Whether the right-hander will suffer a loss due to his lone mistake will be determined Sunday when the suspended game is completed. Anderson is expected to next take the mound Thursday at home against Philadelphia.

Anderson (oblique) allowed one run on a hit and two walks while striking out one in three innings versus the Red Sox on Saturday. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson missed a couple of weeks with an oblique strain, but he pitched fairly well in a short debut. His only run came on a Christian Vazquez single. Anderson threw 26 of his 45 pitches for strikes. The 32-year-old pitched to a 4.21 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 124 strikeouts in 139 innings last season with the Brewers. Anderson may still need a few weeks to get to a starter's workload. His next appearance is scheduled for next Saturday versus the Rays.

Anderson (oblique) was activated from the 10-day injured list Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson will make his season debut against the Red Sox on Saturday after he was sidelined with an oblique strain to begin the regular season. The right-hander still hasn't built up to a full workload, so he isn't expected to throw more than three innings during his first outing. Outfielder Billy McKinney was optioned to the taxi squad to make room on the active roster.

Anderson (oblique) is expected to start Saturday against Boston, Gregor Chisholm of the Toronto Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson's preseason buildup was delayed by an oblique strain. He's still not ready to handle a true starters' workload, but he's expected to throw up to three innings Saturday before handing the ball to a long reliever.

Anderson (oblique) could return from the injured list to start Saturday against the Red Sox, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson has been dealing with an oblique strain since early in summer camp. If he does wind up starting Saturday, he isn't expected to throw more than three innings, as he's yet to build up to a full starter's workload.

Blue Jays pitching coach Pete Walker said Sunday that Anderson (oblique) will be activated from the 10-day injured list this week, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Beyond confirming Matt Shoemaker as the starter for Tuesday's game against the Braves, the Blue Jays haven't outlined their rotation plans for the rest of the week, so Anderson could conceivably start either of the final two games of the series in Atlanta. The right-hander threw a live batting practice session Sunday, which likely marks the final hurdle he'll need to clear in his recovery from the right oblique strain he sustained in the second week of July.

Anderson (oblique) was able to throw three innings in a simulated game Wednesday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per manager Charlie Montoyo, Anderson "looked really good." The workload suggests the right-hander could be close to coming off the injured list, but with Nate Pearson now having made his debut, it's unclear whether there will be room for Anderson in the rotation once he's healthy.
