Gonzalez is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Braves, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez will sit for the second time in the past four days as the Rockies square off against lefty Sean Newcomb and the Braves. The veteran outfielder's fantasy value will obviously take a hit if he continues to be withheld from the lineup against left-handed pitchers, though it's too early in the season to determine if he's entering a true platoon situation or not. Gerardo Parra will man right field, while Ian Desmond slots in at left and Pat Valaika takes over at first base.

Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a triple, a home run and two RBI in Friday's 8-3 loss to the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
The homer was his first of the season, and not coincidentally it came in his first home season of the season. Gonzalez's 1:9 BB:K through eight games isn't ideal, but even if his hitting skills are in decline, the 32-year-old should be able to stay productive as long as he's starting half his games at Coors Field.

Gonzalez is not in the lineup Thursday against the Padres, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez has started each of the Rockies' games to start the season, but with lefty Joey Lucchesi toeing the rubber for San Diego, the veteran will get his first off day of the season. This doesn't seem like a full-blown trend to sit CarGo against southpaws despite his low batting average against lefties the last two seasons, though. Ian Desmond will move into the outfield to replace him, allowing Pat Valaika to log a start at first base.

Gonzalez is expected to open the season as the Rockies' primary right fielder, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since inking a one-year, $8 million pact with the Rockies two weeks ago, Gonzalez has only picked up 12 at-bats across four games during the Cactus League, but the team isn't worried about the veteran being up to full speed by the time Opening Day arrives. While he'll see regular at-bats to begin the campaign, Gonzalez may receive a shorter leash than he did last season, when he hit a disappointing .262 with 14 home runs across 534 plate appearances in what was a relatively healthy year for the oft-injured outfielder. Gonzalez was particularly vulnerable against southpaws, so he could be platooned more liberally this season as the Rockies look to optimize his performance. If Gonzalez's marks against right-handers should also take a step backward, it's not difficult to envision him falling into a bench role, especially if David Dahl stays healthy and proves ready for full-time work in the big leagues.

Gonzalez officially re-signed with Colorado on Friday, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Heyman has yet to announce the specific terms of the deal but Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports also confirmed the agreement just a couple hours after Heyman initially announced that the two sides were close. Gonzalez had a rough go of it in 2017, and hit just .203/.274/.332 away from Coors Field. He was also unable to provide any value against left-handed pitching which means that he's likely going to be utilized within a platoon during this upcoming campaign. Gerardo Parra (hand) and David Dahl also figure to factor into the battle for the starting gig in right field while Ryan McMahon is expected to take on a larger role, so this should be a situation to monitor throughout the rest of spring camp.

Gonzalez is expected to sign with Colorado, Jon Heyman of FanRagSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The deal technically still hasn't been finalized, but Heyman reports that both sides are now just trying to finalize the details with the general agreement already in place. The 32-year-old has spent all but one of his major-league seasons with the Rockies and will be looking to rebound after a disappointing season in 2017 where he slashed .262/.339/.423.

Gonzalez has been in talks with a couple of teams, but isn't close to signing a contract, Jon Heyman of Fan Rag Sports reports. Colorado is staying in contact with Gonzalez and he hasn't ruled out a return to the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
It's not clear if Gonzalez would have a starting job if he returned to Colorado with the Rockies with Ryan McMahon, David Dahl and Raimel Tapia possibly set for larger roles. Still, he could return to the outfield with Ian Desmond moving to first base. It's getting late in the spring for Gonzalez to sign with a team and secure a starting job or sizable role before Opening Day, but it looks like he plans on playing in 2018.

Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with a home run in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Saturday's solo shot was Gonzalez's fifth home run of the month. Coming off a 2016 campaign that saw him hit 25 home runs and 100 RBI, this season has certainly been a disappointment to fantasy owners as those marks are down to 14 and 57, respectively. However, Gonzalez hit .365/.478/.730 over the month of September, which is perfect timing for a Rockies squad that's headed to the NL wild-card game.

Gonzalez (shoulder) is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins, a href="https://twitter.com/psaundersdp/status/912779218764861440">Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez's injury limited him to one pinch-hit at-bat over the last two games, but he is ready to play a full game again Tuesday. He will man right field and hit third in the Rockies' batting order against Marlins starter Jose Urena.

Gonzalez (shoulder) isn't in the lineup Monday against the Marlins, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez will miss his second consecutive game as he continues dealing with a shoulder injury. The club hasn't given any indication as to when Gonzalez could return to the lineup, so consider him day-to-day until further notice. Gerardo Parra will move to right field Monday night with Gonzalez out.
