Gonzalez (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Monday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran outfielder wound up missing the minimum 10 days required of a DL stint after tweaking his hamstring on April 18. Gonzalez will presumably resume a starting role for the Rockies, though he'll need to pick up his .235 batting average if he wants to stave off youngsters like David Dahl, Raimel Tapia and Noel Cuevas for playing time in the corner outfield spots. Cuevas will push the 32-year-old to the bench Monday against the Cubs so Gonzalez avoids a lefty-on-lefty matchup with Chicago starter Jon Lester, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. To clear a spot for Gonzalez on the active roster, DJ Lemahieu (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day disabled list.

Gonzalez (hamstring) is expected to be activated from the 10-day disabled list at some point during the Rockies' three-game series in Chicago against the Cubs that begins Monday, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez was able to do some sprinting on the basepaths Sunday, an indication he has just about made a full recovery from the right hamstring strain that resulted in his placement on the DL on April 22. Once Gonzalez rejoins the active roster, the Rockies will have some tough lineup choices to make in the corner outfield, as David Dahl has made a case for a full-time role with the big club since being recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque. In addition to Gonzalez and Dahl, veteran Gerardo Parra will also be jockeying for playing time at either corner spot, though his ugly .234/.298/.312 batting line for the season may leave him on the outside looking in for at-bats.

Gonzalez is still a few days away from returning from his hamstring strain, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez has been out since April 18 with a tweaked hamstring. He was able to run Friday but only at 75 percent. He's eligible to return from the disabled list Sunday, but it appears that he'll need a few more days than that.

Manager Bud Black said that Gonzalez's injured hamstring is improving, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Black commented that the veteran outfielder has been hitting in the batting cage and completing strengthening exercises. Gonzalez is expected to travel with the team for their upcoming trip to Miami, but it seems to be more for the dry field conditions necessary for an on-field workout rather than an indication that he's closing in on a return. He still remains without a firm return timetable.

Gonzalez (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez has missed the last two games after tweaking his hamstring Wednesday against the Pirates. The veteran outfielder apparently didn't make enough progress in his recovery over the past couple of days, so the Rockies will play it safe and move him to the DL in order to open up a roster spot. With Mike Tauchman also being sent to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, the team was able to promote David Dahl and Noel Cuevas to join the outfield rotation. We'll await further word on Gonzalez's rehab schedule and estimated return date.

Gonzalez is not in the lineup Friday against the Cubs, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez exited Wednesday's game after tweaking his hamstring, but it seems like Thursday's off-day wasn't enough to get him back to 100 percent. Gerardo Parra will move over to right field to replace him, creating a chain reaction that will allow Ryan McMahon to enter the starting nine for the evening.

Gonzalez left Wednesday's game against the Pirates prematurely due to a right hamstring injury, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez made a five-star catch in the fourth inning, but was lifted for pinch-hitter Gerardo Parra in the following half-inning. The severity of the issue is currently unknown, though it's at least a positive thing that he managed to stay in the game for a couple more batters after the initial injury. Thursday's off day could also help him get back in action for Friday's series opener with the Cubs.

Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and a stolen base in Friday's win over the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez took Tanner Roark deep in the fourth, and then drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly during his next plate appearance. He even put himself into scoring position in the ninth with a stolen bag, his second of the year. With one more stolen base, he will have matched his total from all of last year. He's also on a good pace with his third home run on the season, after a year in which he hit just 14. Gonzalez's power numbers were significantly down last year, and the early returns in 2018 are so far pretty encouraging.

Gonzalez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
As is often the case, Gonzalez will head to the bench with the opposition sending out a left-handed starter (Joey Lucchesi). Ian Desmond, Charlie Blackmon and Gerardo Parra will hold down the Rockies' outfield (from left to right) in his absence, opening up a spot for Pat Valaika to start at first base.
