Carlos Gonzalez (knee) expects to return Wednesday. CarGo hasn't played since Sunday because of a strained right knee but felt significant improvement when he woke up Tuesday morning. "I will be in there [on Wednesday]," the 26-year-old outfielder told Troy Renck of the Denver Post. "They just want me to rest it one more day."

The Rockies announced that Carlos Gonzalez has a strained right knee. His ailment isn't hamstring soreness, as had previously been reported. The prognosis doesn't change much, however. After being scratched from Sunday's lineup, CarGo is still considered day-to-day. An MRI on his knee Sunday came back negative.

Carlos Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a double and scored the Rockies lone run in a loss to the Tigers on Saturday. He just continues to hit. Gonzalez' average now rests at .335 on the season to go along with 17 homers, 51 RBI and nine stolen bases. He's also scored 51 times which is tops in the National League. He's an absolute monster across the board in fantasy leagues and there is nothing to suggest he's going to slow down any time soon.

After homering in his final three at-bats on Wednesday, Carlos Gonzalez picked up right where he left off blasting his fourth consecutive home run in the first inning on Thursday, leading the Rockies to an 11-5 rout over the Astros. He finished the night filling up the box score, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, three RBI plus a walk and a stolen base. He's on an absolute tear right now hitting .332 on the season with 14 homers, 44 RBI and eight steals. He's leading the National League in slugging, runs scored, RBI and total bases. With Matt Kemp heading back to the disabled list, Gonzalez looks like the early front runner for the NL MVP award.

Carlos Gonzalez ripped three home runs in Wednesday's 13-5 win over the Astros. CarGo finished his night 4-for-5 with four RBI. He tagged Lucas Harrell for a solo shot in the fifth before getting Xavier Cedeno for a two-run bomb in the sixth and David Carpenter for a solo blast in the eighth. The three-bomb night was the first of his career, though the multi-homer contest was his second in four games and fourth of the season. Through Colorado's first 49 games, CarGo is batting a typically elite .323/.391/.629 to go along with 13 bombs and 41 RBI.

Carlos Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with a home run, double and two RBI in Sunday's loss to the Mariners. CarGo tagged Blake Beavan for a first-inning solo shot. That's the good news. The bad news is that the Rockies are embarking on a six-game road trip. Gonzalez owns an anemic (by his standards) .735 OPS away from Coors Field this season. On the whole, he's hitting an excellent .304/.376/.547.

Carlos Gonzalez smacked his first two home runs of the season, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Pirates on Tuesday. Gonzalez finished the night 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI. He got the scoring started in a hurry with a two-run blast off of Kevin Correia in the first inning, then put the Rockies ahead 4-3 with a second two-run shot off of Tony Watson in the eighth. He's one of the most dynamic players in the game, and is off to another strong start in 2012.
