Gonzalez will play for Team Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran slugger will head to the WBC as the senior member of the Venezuelan outfield, teaming up with the likes of Odubel Herrera, Ender Inciarte, and Hernan Perez. Once he returns from the tournament, CarGo will look to produce another healthy and productive season like he had in last season, when he posted an OPS of .855 and drove in 100 runs.

Gonzalez is out of the lineup Saturday against the Dodgers, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gerardo Parra will take over in right field as Gonzalez sits against lefty Clayton Kershaw, marking Gonzalez's first absence in September. Gonzalez has more than held his own against lefties this season (.795 OPS) but he's just 7-for-36 (.194 average) in his career against Kershaw.

Gonzalez went 1-for-6 but hit a two-run homer in the 11th inning in Saturday's 9-4 victory over the Nationals. He also had an RBI groundout earlier in the game.
EDGE Analysis
The slugger blasted a 425-foot shot to center in the 11th that plated DJ LeMahieu and extended the Rockies' lead to 8-4 at the time. It Gonzalez's fourth multi-RBI outing of August and third round-tripper of the month.

Gonzalez is in the lineup Friday against the Cubs, Jenny Cavnar of Root Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez sat out Wednesday, so it's no surprise to see the slugger return to the lineup for Colorado's series opener against Chicago. Over the last 14 days, Gonzalez has hit .304/.346/.435 with four RBI.

Gonzalez is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Nationals, the Denver Post's Patrick Saunders reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez would have the platoon advantage against Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg, but perhaps manager Walt Weiss is factoring in his right fielder's .143 career average against Strasburg. It's also possible the Rockies are just looking to give Gonzalez a day off as he has missed time recently with a sore ankle. Either way, Gerardo Parra will get the start in right field and hit fifth Wednesday.

Gonzalez is back in the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
With the Rockies facing a lefty on Sunday, manager Walt Weiss decided to give Gonzalez's recently injured ankle a rest. It wouldn't be surprising if the Rockies took it slightly easy with Gonzalez over the next week or so, but for now, consider him good to go. He went 2-for-5 with a double Saturday, his first full game in return from the injury.

Gonzalez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez made his return to the lineup Saturday after a four-game absence, and went 2-for-5 with a double in the loss. He'll return to the bench Sunday, however, as lefty Adam Morgan will take the hill for the opposing Phillies. The move allows manager Walt Weiss to play matchups while preserving the health of Gonzalez at the same time.

Gonzalez (ankle) is back in the lineup Saturday, hitting third and manning right field, ROOT Sports' Jenny Cavnar reports.
EDGE Analysis
He had been out of the lineup for six straight games, but hit a pinch-hit three-run homer in Thursday's game. Gonzalez now forms one of the most offensively imposing outfield trios in baseball with Charlie Blackmon and rookie David Dahl.

Gonzalez (ankle) remains out of the lineup Friday against the Phillies, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez played the hero Thursday, smacking a pinch-hit, bases-clearing double to break a 9-9 tie in the eighth inning, but apparently he's still lacking the requisite mobility to field his position. Gerardo Parra will man right field Friday in place of Gonzalez, who figures to be available off the bench once again with an eye toward a weekend return.
