Smith (hip) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Jacksonville on Monday, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith has been out with left hip inflammation since June 7. It's not yet clear if he'll require one or multiple rehab starts. If he needs just one, he'd line up to return Saturday against the Phillies.

Smith (hip) completed his bullpen session Tuesday and will make at least one minor-league rehab start before returning to the majors, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith may require another bullpen session before embarking on the rehab stint, but the Marlins have yet to announce their official plans. The 27-year-old landed on the injured list June 7 with left hip inflammation, so he shouldn't require a significant amount of time to get back up to speed.

Smith (hip) played long toss Sunday and will throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith has been out 10 days with left hip inflammation. He'll have to build back up and possibly embark on a rehab assignment, though his absence shouldn't be particularly long given that he's already resumed throwing.

Smith (hip) has been cleared to resume a throwing program, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty was checked over Friday and received clearance to pick up a baseball again, a week after landing on the IL with left hip inflammation. He will likely throw on flat ground a few times before moving on to bullpen sessions, live BP and ultimately a rehab assignment. That progression will take a couple weeks minimum.

Smith (hip) will visit a doctor Friday in hopes of being cleared to resume baseball activities, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith hasn't thrown since landing on the injured list a week ago. If he receives good news from the doctor, he should be able to return in a relatively short time frame given that he hasn't been shut down for too long.

Smith (hip) is still resting after being placed on the injured list with left hip inflammation, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith landed on the shelf Friday due to the injury, and it appears as though he'll need at least a few more days to rest before beginning a throwing program. He remains without a timetable for a return, but he'll be eligible to come off the injured list starting June 17.

Smith was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with left hip inflammation, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith gave up four runs -- including three homers -- over five innings during Thursday's start at Milwaukee, and according to Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald, he's apparently been dealing with the hip issue over his last few starts. The severity of the injury is not yet known, but the 27-year-old will be eligible to return from the IL on June 17, a timeline which would only result in one missed start.

Smith (3-4) yielded four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings in Thursday's loss to the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Smith was hit hard in his first inning of work, giving up a two-run blast to Christian Yelich and then a solo shot to Mike Moustakas. He gave up another homer to Moustakas in the bottom of the third inning, as all four of his runs allowed came via the home-run ball. Smith continues to have problems keeping the ball in the yard, giving up a long ball in each of his last eight outings. Despite this, the 27-year-old lefty owns a respectable 3.41 ERA and 1.02 WHIP with an 82:20 K:BB through 66 innings this season.

Smith (3-3) struck out eight but took the loss Friday as the Marlins were downed 5-2 by the Padres. He allowed two runs on three hits and two walks over five innings.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw wasn't exactly sharp despite the strikeouts, throwing 56 of 93 pitches for strikes and getting too much of the plate when he was over it -- all three of San Diego's hits off Smith went for extra bases, including two solo homers. He'll take a 3.10 ERA and 80:18 K:BB over 61 innings into his next start Thursday in Milwaukee.

Smith (3-2) allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one over three innings Sunday in a loss to Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Smith didn't fare well in the series finale, yielding one run in the second inning followed by four in the bottom of the third. The 27-year-old southpaw hadn't allowed more than three earned runs in an outing this season entering the day, so this appears to be just a blip on the radar for Smith. He owns a 3.05 ERA with 72 strikeouts over 56 frames in 2019.
