Smith (hip) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Jacksonville on Monday, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

Smith has been out with left hip inflammation since June 7. It's not yet clear if he'll require one or multiple rehab starts. If he needs just one, he'd line up to return Saturday against the Phillies.
