McCarthy said that he is hoping for tendonitis in his right elbow, MLB.com reports.
Initial tests on his ligament came back negative after the game. McCarthy said that he has been battling this for about a week now. This is also similar to an injury he was playing with last season, but that only effected him during warm-ups and never in games. After the MRI test on Monday, his status for his next start will be clearer.

McCarthy suffered right elbow tightness when he was pulled from Saturday's game.
McCarthy called for a trainer after allowing a home run to Justin Upton and was immediately pulled from the game. Tightness in an elbow can be difficult to judge long-term, so his availability for his next start is still up in the air.

McCarthy gave up four home runs and five runs Monday but still struck out 10 batters in seven innings of work, earning a no-decision.
McCarthy has now given up six homers in his first two starts of the season and nine earned runs, good for an awful 6.78 FIP. Still, his strikeout numbers have been very high thus far, somewhat helping his fantasy value.

McCarthy gave up four runs on nine hits, while striking out nine and walking one, in five innings to pick up the win against San Diego on Wednesday.
It wasn't an impressive outing, but it was still good enough to get the win. McCarthy struggled in the spring and he'll have to perform better to live up to his four-year, $48 million deal. His next outing will be Monday against Seattle.

McCarthy by all accounts is healthy this spring, but after allowing six runs in his last outing, his ERA sits at 8.00 in nine innings of work.
Unless we hear reports to the contrary, McCarthy looks to set to start the third game of the season versus San Diego.

McCarthy's deal with the Dodgers has been finalized, ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports.
There was a slight delay in finalizing the deal after McCarthy had reportedly agreed to the contract with the Dodgers on Wednesday. McCarthy will open the season as the team's No. 4 starter, while looking to build off of a very good 2014 campaign that included an increased strikeout rate when he returned to throwing his cutter after being acquired by the Yankees mid-season.

McCarthy has signed with the Dodgers for what is believed to be a four-year, $48 million deal, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.
On a day where the Dodgers stole the show at the Winter Meetings with all kinds of wheeling and dealing, they closed the day by getting a veteran to serve as a likely fourth or fifth starter. McCarthy seems nowhere near the pitcher he was with the A's a few years back, but he's also had injuries and has been constantly on the move. Perhaps a stable setting in a great pitcher's park with some aces ahead of him take the pressure off will get his career on course again.

McCarthy took the loss Tuesday, surrendering five earned runs on 11 hits -- including three homers -- across 5.1 innings against the visiting Orioles.
On the bright side, he didn't allow a single free pass and managed to fan eight. However, the three bombs brought his total to 25 in 200 innings this season, which ties him for sixth worst among AL pitchers. The 31-year-old finishes the season with a 4.05 ERA, 10-15 record and a 1.28 WHIP in 32 starts with the Yankees and Diamondbacks.
