McCarthy (2-2) allowed three runs on three hits and five walks with two strikeouts over three innings in a loss Tuesday to the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
McCarthy has failed to go more than four innings in either of his past two starts. The major cause of his struggles Tuesday night was a complete breakdown of his control. He hadn't walked more than three batters in any of his previous five starts, and for his career he owns a solid 2.2 BB/9. Don't expect this to become a trend.

McCarthy (2-1) suffered a loss to the Rays, giving up three runs on four hits over four innings on Wednesday. He also struck out seven and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
He had a one-run lead in the fourth, but he tossed up a two-run homer to Evan Longoria and then allowed another run on a double. It was good to see McCarthy back out there after he left Friday's game with an apparent cramp, but McCarthy threw the shortest outing of his brief season. He is 2-1 with a 2.39 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 33 strikeouts in 26.1 innings over five starts. His next outing will be Tuesday against the Rockies.

McCarthy left Friday's game in the seventh inning with an apparent right calf cramp/injury.
EDGE Analysis
The training staff came out to try to loosen up his calf, but he was pulled as the Dodgers opted to play it safe. He was in the midst of a very solid outing against the Cardinals, having logged 6.1 innings, giving up one earned run on one hit and three walks while striking out four. This was his longest outing since returning from Tommy John surgery, despite the fact that he exited after just 85 pitches. His status will be updated when the team comments on the injury, but it didn't seem overly serious.

McCarthy shut down the Diamondbacks to the tune of just three hits across six scoreless innings in Saturday's no-decision, striking out eight without issuing a single walk.
EDGE Analysis
McCarthy was dominant and only allowed two men past first base while pounding the zone at a 71 percent clip. He needed just 77 pitches to get through six frames and likely could have gone deeper into the game, but the club seems to be handling him carefully after returning from the 60-day DL just two weeks ago. He has pitched quite well, however, and will take a sterling 1.69 ERA into Friday's start at the Cardinals.

McCarthy (2-0) gave up three earned runs on three hits and three walks over five innings in Saturday's 4-3 victory over the Padres. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander pitched solidly once again, with Yangervis Solarte's first-inning two-run homer serving the biggest blemish on his otherwise solid afternoon. McCarthy has now gone five innings in both of his starts, and has a solid 2.70 ERA and 0.90 WHIP to date. The 33-year-old will look to continue the strong start to his Dodgers stint following the All-Star break.

McCarthy (elbow) was activated from the 60-day DL and will start Sunday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
McCarthy had already been announced as the Sunday starter, so this update is merely a formality to remove the right-hander from the 60-day DL and on to the active roster. He'll be making his first start in the majors since April of 2015.

McCarthy (elbow) will return to the Dodgers and start Sunday against the Rockies, the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
McCarthy has now appeared in four rehab outings, most recently tossing 72 pitches Monday for Class-A Rancho Cucamonga. He completed five frames in that contest, surrendering four runs (three earned) and striking out three. Given the workload to date, it wouldn't be wise to expect the right-hander to pitch deep into Sunday's game, so fantasy owners that have long awaited his return may want to temper their expectations. Look for the team to make an official roster move to activate McCarthy from the 60-day DL at any point prior to Sunday's first pitch.

McCarthy (elbow) is expected to make his next rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
McCarthy allowed two runs over three innings last Thursday at High-A Rancho Cucamonga and will face more advanced competition this time out. The veteran has been held to a pitch count of 50 in his previous rehab starts, a number likely to increase before his return to the majors.

McCarthy (elbow) surrendered two runs on four hits over three innings with four strikeouts in a rehab outing for High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
At this point, the results are less important than how McCarthy feels after the outing. He'll make several more minor league starts before hoping to join the big league rotation in early July.
