Bartolo Colon allowed two runs on six hits in five innings of work on Sunday, picking up the win in Oakland's 6-2 victory in San Francisco. Colon struck out seven and walked two as he improved to 4-4 on the season. A nice outing, though today was the third time in four May starts that Colon failed to record more than 15 outs. He'll bring a 4.09 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 38/10 K/BB ratio (compiled across 61 2/3 innings) into his Saturday start against the Yankees at home.

Bartolo Colon was pounded for seven runs in 2 1/3 innings by the Tigers on Thursday. Colon has turned in a couple of real stinkers this year, but he's still been terrific more often than not. He's due to face the Angels and Giants next week, so he should be a nice play in mixed leagues.

Bartolo Colon turned in another decent performance against the Rays on Saturday night, allowing three runs on eight hits over five innings of work. Colon struck out two and walked two. He's 3-2 on the season with a 2.83 ERA and should continue to be a reliable fantasy option as long as he can maintain his improved control. The right-hander faces the Tigers next.

Bartolo Colon was stellar again Sunday, allowing just two runs on seven hits in 8 1/3 innings, but lost a shutout bid in the ninth inning of Oakland's loss in Baltimore. Colon struck out five and walked one. Colon breezed through his first eight innings of work, but allowed a leadoff J.J. Hardy single in the ninth. He fanned Nick Markakis before allowing another single to Adam Jones and getting pulled. Closer Grant Balfour then got into all sorts of trouble as he blew his second save. Regardless of the ending, Colon has now completed at least seven innings of work in five of his six starts, posting a 2.53 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in the process. He'll bring a 26/6 K/BB ratio into Saturday's start in Tampa.

Bartolo Colon took a loss to the White Sox after allowing two runs in seven innings on Monday. Back-to-back homers from Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko in the fourth inning did all of the damage. Unfortunately, that was more than Jake Peavy needed tonight. Colon dropped to 3-2 with a 2.62 ERA.

ESPN's Buster Olney suggests Bartolo Colon could become a ''hot commodity'' on the trade market. Colon threw 38 consecutive strikes in his last outing and has allowed just two walks and 19 strikeouts in his first 27.1 innings. Per Olney, the Athletics could be motivated to move Colon when they ''perceive his value is at its highest,'' as opposed to waiting until later in the year. His base salary is a minuscule $2 million this season.

Bartolo Colon limited the Angels to just four hits in eight scoreless innings of Wednesday's 6-0 victory. Colon struck out five and walked none. The real story, however, was his strike throwing, as an amazing 82 of his 102 pitches found the strike zone, while he somehow threw 38 consecutive strikes between the fifth and eighth innings. Colon has now tossed 15 straight scoreless innings, and is the owner of a 2.63 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 19/2 K/BB ratio through his first 27 1/3 innings. He'll get the White Sox at home in a favorable matchup on Monday.

Bartolo Colon pitched seven scoreless innings and combined with two relievers on a three-hitter Friday in a 4-0 win over the Mariners. Colon was responsible for all three hits, but it was a second outstanding outing for him. Unfortunately, the middle of the three straight starts against the Mariners was bad enough to leave him with a 3.72 ERA. Still, he's really only had one poor inning so far.

Bartolo Colon was pounded for seven runs in 4 1/3 innings by the Mariners on Saturday. Colon was certainly hit unlucky tonight, giving up 10 of them. Not a one left the park, but he did surrender triples to Ichiro Suzuki and Chone Figgins and a double to Figgins. He's now even after his first start of the season, in which he allowed just three hits in eight innings.
