Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said he interested in re-signing both Bartolo Colon and Freddy Garcia. "I have an interest in both Freddy and Bartolo,'' Cashman said. "Those guys all did a good job for us, a really good job.'' The reality is that the Yanks are unlikely to re-sign both, but perhaps one of the veterans will return. Garcia seems to be a higher priority than Colon, as Cashman has already spoken to the 35-year-old's agent.

Bartolo Colon allowed two runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Rays. He struck out three and walked two. After a terrific first half, the 38-year-old wore down after the break. He was winless in each of his last 10 starts dating back to the end of July. On July 2, his ERA sat at 2.88. He finishes the regular season 8-10 with a 4.00 ERA and 1.29 WHIP, numbers the Yankees will gladly take for their bargain-bin offseason signing.

Bartolo Colon was blasted by the Rays Thursday, yielding seven runs - five earned - on seven hits and a walk over just three innings. This comes after Colon served up six runs over just four frames in his last trip to the hill. After a terrific first half, it's clear the 38-year-old has worn down after the break, posting a 5.09 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 13 starts. He'll still likely be part of the Bronx Bombers' postseason rotation, though Colon hasn't done himself any favors down the stretch. He'll try to bounce back next week in a rematch against the Rays in his final start of the year.

Bartolo Colon was smoked for six runs over four innings as part of a no-decision Saturday against the Blue Jays. He gave up seven hits and a walk while striking out three. It was his shortest start since he failed to make it out of the first inning against the Jays on July 14. Colon was brilliant in a win over the Angels last Friday, but he appears to be running out of gas. He is winless in each of his last eight starts dating back to the end of July.

Bartolo Colon limited the Angels to an unearned run over seven innings in a no-decision on Friday. He did so despite an upset stomach that troubled him throughout. Unfortunately, Colon didn't get any help from his offense tonight. He's winless in his last seven starts.

Bartolo Colon gave up four runs over 6 1/3 innings as part of a no-decision in a win over the Blue Jays on Saturday. Colon allowed seven hits while walking one and striking out seven. He gave up the go-ahead run on a rare home run by Dewayne Wise in the top of the fifth inning. Colon now has a 5.68 ERA over his last four starts and is winless over his last six. Phil Hughes or A.J. Burnett are expected to get bumped from the rotation next week, so Colon will likely make his next start against the Orioles on Thursday.

The Yankees announced that they'll go with Bartolo Colon and Ivan Nova in Sunday's doubleheader against the Orioles. No surprise here. Colon will face off against Zach Britton in the first game, while Nova will be opposed by Brian Matusz in the second.

Bartolo Colon got roughed up by the Royals on Wednesday, allowing five runs on seven hits and two home runs in five innings of a Yankees loss. He served up a three-run bomb to Alex Gordon in the third before Billy Butler took him deep for a solo shot two batters later. Colon is now just 2-3 with a 4.41 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in 34 2/3 innings over seven starts since the All-Star break. The dream may be ending.

Bartolo Colon could make it just 4 2/3 innings on Friday night, allowing two runs on six hits in New York's 3-2 win in Boston. Colon threw 94 pitches in struggling to record his 14 outs. He was hitting the upper-90s on the radar gun, however, so it wouldn't appear as if the portly 38-year-old righty is getting fatigued after throwing just 101 1/3 innings since the end of the 2007 season coming into 2011. He'll get the Angels at home his next time out.

Bartolo Colon yielded two runs over five innings as the Yankees defeated the Orioles 8-3 in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday. He was pulled after tying a season-high by throwing 105 pitches. Colon gave up five hits, walked two and hit a batter while striking out six. The veteran right-hander has allowed two runs or less in each of his last three starts, so it appears he is back on track following his dud against the Blue Jays on July 14. He'll carry a 3.30 ERA into a start against the White Sox next week.
