Triggs was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Triggs compiled a 1.80 ERA with a save and three strikeouts in four games this spring, but he's been instructed to clean out his locker and head to Triple-A. The 29-year-old made nine starts for the Athletics in 2018 and posted a 5.23 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with a 43:18 K:BB across 41.1 innings.

Triggs (shoulder) is expected to have a normal spring training, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Triggs underwent thoracic outlet surgery near the end of September, and he's reportedly on track in his rehab. The right-hander is in line to be used out of the bullpen for Oakland in 2019 despite taking on a starting role last year.

Triggs (forearm) underwent successful thoracic outlet surgery Wednesday, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander's procedure, a first rib resection and scalenectomy, was performed by Dr. Gregory Pearl in Dallas. Despite the fact the operation went smoothly, Triggs' future remains somewhat in doubt due to the seriousness of the injury it addressed. Updates on Triggs' condition and recovery will likely be available as 2019 spring training approaches.

Triggs (forearm) will undergo thoracic outlet surgery Sept. 26.
EDGE Analysis
Triggs had been out since mid-May with a forearm issue. He appeared to be nearing a return to action before suffering a setback in an early-September rehab start. The surgery is a significant one and carries serious risk that Triggs won't be the same pitcher once he returns -- see Matt Harvey for a notable recent example. A more precise recovery timeline should be available following the procedure.

Triggs (forearm) suffered a setback following his Wednesday rehab start for High-A Stockton and has been shut down for the time being, Michael Wagaman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Triggs fired a total of 34 pitches in what was his first taste of game action since May 17, and it appears the workload may have been a bit much. Following that appearance, the right-hander reportedly began feeling similar nerve irritation symptoms to those that landed him on the disabled list, leading to the shutdown. With just over three weeks remaining in the regular season, Triggs' chances of pitching at the big-league level again this season are slimmer than ever.

Triggs (forearm) fired 1.2 scoreless innings in High-A Stockton's loss to Visalia on Wednesday, allowing a hit, issuing two walks and recording two strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
With the exception of the control issues, it was as about an encouraging of a first rehab outing as Triggs and the Athletics could have hoped for. The right-hander worked up to 34 pitches, certainly a solid workload after not having seen game action since May 17. Triggs presumably remains fairly far removed from being big-league ready, but he's likely to up his pitch count in his next minor-league turn.

Triggs (forearm) is expected to go on a minor-league rehab assignment at High-A Stockton this week, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Triggs hasn't seen major-league action since mid-May but completed a simulated game Saturday as he looks for a September return to the Athletics' bullpen. The 29-year-old will likely require a few minor-league appearances after the long layoff.

Triggs (forearm) is scheduled to throw a simulated game Saturday, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Triggs has been on the shelf since mid-May with a forearm injury. The right-hander continues to slowly work his way through a throwing program, and is hoping to be available as a reliever at some point in September should the A's want to call him up.

Triggs (forearm) continues a throwing program and could be slotted into a bullpen role upon his eventual return, Eric He of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Triggs has been throwing since late July, and manager Bob Melvin is optimistic he'll be ready for a big-league return this season. The Athletics skipper confirmed that Triggs could slot into a bullpen role upon eventual activation, given that the starting rotation is presently hitting on all cylinders (6-1, 1.89 ERA and .204 BAA over last 11 games).

Triggs (forearm) played catch again Wednesday, his second day doing so this week, Eric He of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Triggs is slowly working his arm back into shape after being shut down from throwing for over a month. He'd resumed playing catch Monday, and the fact he was able to do so again just 48 hours later implies there have been no setbacks. The right-hander is likely to continue being brought along slowly and will eventually need a multi-appearance rehab assignment before being considered for activation.
