Miller worked around a hit to record his eighth save with a scoreless ninth inning Monday against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Miller jumped right into the closer's role following the trade of Aroldis Chapman to the Cubs. He was 36-of-38 with a 2.04 ERA and 0.86 WHIP as Yankees closer last season, and there's no reason he won't be just as stellar in the role to finish out 2016.

Miller, as expected, will assume the closer's role following the team's trade of Aroldis Chapman, Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Miller saved 36 games last year in his first season in a full-time closer capacity and logged seven saves at the beginning of 2016 before being bumped back to a setup role. He figures to be one of the league's top ninth-inning options, as the lefty has a terrific 1.45 ERA and 15.4 K/9 over 42 appearances.

The Yankees are reportedly close to dealing Aroldis Chapman, ABC News reports. If that happened Miller would almost certainly be named the closer again.
EDGE Analysis
Miller is owned already in most leagues, but if you have him, you can probably count on a nice boost in saves down the stretch. l

Miller has given up just three earned runs since his last save on June 7.
EDGE Analysis
Since then, Miller has assumed a pretty firm set-up role behind closer Aroldis Chapman. In his 15.2 innings pitched since that save, Miller has allowed only four walks while striking out 24. His ERA now sits at a mere 1.31 along with a 0.73 WHIP which ranks third best among relievers with at least 30-plus appearances.

Miller picked up his seventh save of the season Tuesday against the Angels. He allowed one hit and struck out one while preserving a three-run lead.
EDGE Analysis
Despite giving way to Aroldis Chapman as the team's closer, Miller has been able to rack up great numbers in 2016. Aside from his seven saves, the southpaw has picked up three wins and eight holds while logging a 15:0 K:BB over 25.2 innings.

Miller pitched a clean eighth inning to earn his fourth hold of the season Thursday against the A's.
EDGE Analysis
Now that Aroldis Chapman has returned (suspension) as the closer, Miller's value has certainly taken a hit. However, he is likely to make more appearances in his new role, pick up a ton of holds and notch a few saves when Chapman needs rest. The left-hander is still a valuable asset in a variety of formats, especially those that reward holds.

Miller struck out two in a perfect eighth inning Sunday to pick up his second hold of the season in a 7-5 win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
He's moved seamlessly into a setup role with Aroldis Chapman back from suspension, and Miller's 0.57 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and 28:1 K:BB in 15.2 innings are as elite as it gets regardless of how the Yankees use him.

Manager Joe Girardi reiterated Saturday that despite Miller's success in the ninth inning, Aroldis Chapman (suspension) will be the Yankees closer starting Monday against the Royals, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.
EDGE Analysis
This has always been assumed, but Girardi's comments dash any slight hopes Miller's owners may have had that he could retain a role in the ninth inning after performing admirably in that capacity during Chapman's absence. Miller is operating with a 20:1 K:BB in 11.2 innings this season, and has not allowed a run, so he will still have value in almost all roto formats when he is reduced to a setup role, but his owners should start trying to locate another source of saves if they hope to avoid a drop off in that department.

Miller recorded a four-out save, his sixth of the season, Friday night keeping the Red Sox off the board in a 3-2 win.
EDGE Analysis
It was and wasn't a Miller-esque save. He allowed three hits and a walk, but he kept the lead intact by retiring all four outs via the strikeout. Of note, he needed 36 pitches in this outing which could impact his availability on Saturday. Miller also kept his 0.00 ERA on the books, but his days as the Yankees' primary closer could be ticking down as Aroldis Chapman will be eligible to return from suspension on Monday.

Miller picked up his fifth save with a clean inning Monday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Over the last 10 days, Miller has thrown six innings without allowing a run with nine strikeouts, no walks allowed, and just one hit -- all to go with three saves and a victory. Miller has a perfect 0.00 ERA and a miniscule 0.375 WHIP and will continue to be one of the most valuable relievers in baseball even after Aroldis Chapman pushes him into a setup role.
