Allen Craig (foot) took live batting practice again on Sunday. He also did some running to first base. Craig has progressed well recently with his Lisfranc injury and is expected to be ready to serve as the Cardinals' designated hitter in Boston if he can avoid a setback. He hasn't played since September 4.

Allen Craig (foot) is expected to be on the Cardinals' World Series roster. Craig took 10 at-bats during a simulated game Friday and will have another hitting session before the World Series begins on Wednesday. Assuming he doesn't have a setback, he'll serve as the club's designated hitter in Boston and bat off the bench in St. Louis. Craig hasn't played since suffering a Lisfranc injury to his left foot back on September 4. "There are some things that I can improve on," Craig said. "I'm happy with where I am. I feel like there is something I can work with now. I'm not going to miss the World Series for anything."

Allen Craig (leg) said during Friday's celebration of winning the National League Pennant, that he feels he's ready for the World Series. Craig took roughly 10 at-bats against live pitching during a simulated game on Friday and reported no problems. He's aiming to serve as the Cardinals DH during games played in American League parks during the World Series, and as a right-handed option off the bench at home. He'll have at least one more hitting session before the Cardinals make a final determination on his status, but Craig feels like he can help the team right now.

Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said that Allen Craig (leg) "felt good" during a live batting practice session Friday. It's the first time he's faced live pitching since he suffered a Lisfranc injury to his left foot back on September 4. He'll be scheduled for another hitting session before the Cards determine whether he'll be ready for DH and pinch-hitting duties should they reach the World Series.

Allen Craig (foot) is scheduled to take live batting practice on Friday at Busch Stadium. Craig will face Cardinals left-hander Jaime Garcia, who is rehabbing an injury of his own. The hope is that Craig will be able to DH if the Cards take care of the Dodgers in the NLCS and advance to the World Series. He has been out since September 4 with a Lisfranc injury.

Allen Craig (foot) did some light running on Sunday. He also took batting practice with teammates crowding around, chanting his name. "We're continuing to progress," Craig said after Sunday's workout in Los Angeles. "They have new challenges for me every day. We'll see how it goes. My swing feels pretty good. Obviously, it's not game speed. But there are things that I'll do over the next week or so to try and get ready if we can advance." He's hoping to DH in the World Series.

Allen Craig (foot) took batting practice on Sunday. It's the first time he's done so since he suffered a Lisfranc injury in his left foot back on September 4. Craig has yet to be cleared to run, which will obviously need to happen before he'll be an option to be added to the Cardinals' postseason roster. He won't play in the NLCS, but the Cards aren't ruling him out for the World Series.

Allen Craig (foot) has been cleared for increased baseball activity. He has not yet been cleared to run, but it appears that Craig is finally making some progress with the Lisfranc injury in his left foot. The first baseman is not on the Cardinals' NLCS roster, but there appears to be a chance he could make it back as designated hitter during the World Series should the Cards advance.

Allen Craig is visiting a foot specialist on Thursday. Craig has already been ruled out for the Cardinals' best-of-seven NLCS with the Dodgers due to a Lisfranc injury that he suffered in early September. Matt Adams will remain the Cardinals' starting first baseman. Craig will hope to get good news from the doctor Thursday so that he can DH in the World Series if the Cards advance.

Allen Craig (foot) said late Wednesday night that he's hoping to be available for the NLCS. But the Cardinals aren't expecting it to happen. Craig has been out five weeks with a Lisfranc injury and is still sporting a noticeable limp. Look for Matt Adams to remain the Cardinals' first baseman in the best-of-seven National League Championship Series vs. Los Angeles. Craig may be able to DH if the Cards advance to the World Series.
