Allen Craig will bat second for the first time this season on Tuesday against the Brewers. Craig is hitting .143 (6-for-45) to begin the young season, so perhaps the change will get him going. This is the 10th different lineup in 14 games for Cardinals manager Mike Matheny.

Allen Craig is not in the Cardinals' lineup Wednesday. Craig has just three singles in his first 31 at-bats this season, so it's a good time to get him a breather with an off day looming Thursday. Jon Jay is starting in right field in his place.

Allen Craig went 2-for-3 with a walk as the Cardinals' first baseman on Sunday. He's batting .379. Craig has made three starts at first base this spring, compared to seven in right field, suggesting the Cardinals will continue using him in the infield from time to time. Matt Adams could sit against certain lefties, with Craig at first base and Shane Robinson in the outfield.

According to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Allen Craig (foot) has progressed in his rehab to the point where he's ready to begin running in the outfield. After the World Series concluded, Craig took a month off from all activities to allow the torn ligaments in his foot to fully heal. He has since been working out and working on conditioning drills, and recently began running. He's expected to be fully healed and ready to go for the start of spring training.

Allen Craig is batting cleanup for the Cardinals in Game 6 of the World Series on Wednesday. Craig reported no major issues after starting at first base in Game 5 on Monday. He will DH in Game 6 on Wednesday and try to help the Cardinals force a Game 7. The full St. Louis lineup: Matt Carpenter 2B, Carlos Beltran RF, Matt Holliday LF, Allen Craig DH, Yadier Molina C, Matt Adams 1B, David Freese 3B, Jon Jay CF, Daniel Descalso SS. Michael Wacha is on the mound.

Allen Craig has been added to Monday's World Series Game 5 lineup at first base. Craig pushed himself with some ground balls before the game and evidently his left foot is feeling well enough. He'll hit sixth for the Cardinals versus left-hander Jon Lester, while Matt Adams will head to the bench. Craig is 4-for-9 during the World Series and has contributed a pinch-hit each of the last two nights.

Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said during an appearance on MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM that there's still a chance Allen Craig (foot) will be in the lineup for Game 5 of the World Series on Monday.

Allen Craig (foot) will not start at first base for Game 5 of the World Series on Monday. Craig appeared less than 100 percent when he pinch-hit on Sunday, but he told reporters after the game that he hoped to play first base in Game 5. While he took grounders at the position Monday, the Cardinals aren't ready to put him back in the field. The good news is that he could DH for Game 6 and a possible Game 7.

Allen Craig (foot) is hoping to play first base in Game 5 of the World Series on Monday. But it seems unlikely to happen. Craig was used as a pinch-hitter in Game 4 on Sunday and couldn't make it past first base on a shot to the right-field wall because of lingering discomfort in his left foot. Matt Adams, a left-handed batter, will probably have to start at first again versus Red Sox left-hander Jon Lester.

Cardinals manager Mike Matheny indicated Sunday that all of Allen Craig's (foot) tests came back clean and he will be available off the bench for Game 4 of the World Series on Sunday. Craig appeared to aggravate his left foot injury while scoring the game winning run in the Cardinals Game 3 victory on Saturday. He had initially hoped to return to the starting lineup for Game 4, but the Cardinals have to be delighted that he's at least an option off the bench on Sunday.
