Colome (pneumonia) was activated from the 15-day DL and will start Friday against the Orioles. As expected, Colome will make his 2015 debut Friday after missing all of April while battling back from a bout of pneumonia. Colome impressed in his four minor league rehab starts, allowing four runs on 17 hits with a 17:3 K:BB over 15.1 innings, but he only threw 63 pitches in his final outing with Triple-A Durham.

Colome (pneumonia) will start Friday against the Orioles, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports. A week after getting Drew Smyly back, the Rays will welcome Colome to the starting rotation. The 26-year-old Colome came down with a bout of pneumonia in mid-March, but he's completed four rehab starts without issue, most recently tossing 63 pitches in an outing with Triple-A Durham. Colome will oppose right-hander Chris Tillman in his 2015 debut.

Colome (pneumonia) will be activated and rejoin the rotation in time for the weekend series against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Colome was able to make it through 63 pitches in a rehab start with Triple-A Durham on Sunday and reported that he's now good to go to return to the big league team. No official announcement has been made, but the 26-year-old could be a candidate to get the start as early as Friday.

Colome (illness) tossed six innings and 63 pitches (45 strikes) in a rehab start with Triple-A Durham on Sunday, the Tampa Bay Times reports. Colome continues to build up his arm after a bout with pneumonia, and could be on the verge of rejoining a shorthanded Rays starting rotation. The 26-year-old spent most of 2014 with Triple-A Durham, but was impressive in his time with the Rays. Over five game (three starts) and 23.2 innings, Colome amassed a 2.66 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with 13 strikeouts. His two starts in Triple-A thus far have resulted in a 1.93 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 12 strikeouts over 9.1 innings as well, so he's showing continued success on the mound despite the extended layoff.

Colome (illness) will likely make one more rehab start and then could join the Rays' rotation, the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin reports. In deeper leagues Colome is worth a stash, as he can be electric when he's on. All of his stuff moves, and it seems apparent that he represents an upgrade over at least one of Nate Karns or Erasmo Ramirez. Look for him to make his first star of 2015 with the Rays in early May.

Colome (pnuemonia) struck out six and walked three over 3.1 innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Durham on Tuesday. He threw 77 pitches (47 strikes), but struggled to command his fastball in the outing. Colome should be stretched out enough to rejoin the Rays' rotation this weekend if desired, but he's currently on the same schedule as Chris Archer, who also pitched Tuesday against Boston. As a result, Colome may get one more turn with Durham on Sunday before a return for the weekend series against Baltimore that begins May 1.

Colome (illness) will start a rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Colome dealt with a bout of pneumonia throughout the spring but appears to be returning to full health. He's slated to go either four or five innings in his first start at Triple-A and an updated timetable could become available after the team sees how he progresses after the appearance.

Colome (illness) made it through his Saturday rehab start free of setbacks, and is scheduled to make one more Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Colome's spring was greatly limited due to an intense bout with pneumonia, so he's been starting minor league games to gradually build up his strength and become game-ready. It looks like he'll have one more rehab start on tap, and will likely be evaluated again before the decision is made to call him up to the big leagues.

Colome (pneumonia) will make his first rehab start at Port Charlotte on Saturday, the Tampa Bay Times reports. The Rays haven't offered up a concrete timetable for Colome's return, but it's reasonable to think that he'll need at least two rehab starts in the minors before he's stretched out enough to be activated from the disabled list. If that were to materialize, he would be activated in approximately two weeks.
