Wainwright (6-3) allowed just four hits and two walks over six scoreless innings while striking out six batters during Thursday's win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a significant turnaround for the veteran righty, as Wainwright has now allowed just a single run thorough 26.1 innings over his past four starts. He's recorded the win in each of the four outings, too. After posting a discouraging 4.62 ERA and 1.40 WHIP last season, it's reasonable to be skeptical about Wainwright's current run. However, the veteran was also a fantasy stalwart for the better part of a decade, so it's probably worth giving him the benefit of doubt for the time being. A daunting road matchup against the Reds at Great American Ball Park is on deck, and it could be a telling test.

Wainwright (5-3) fired seven shutout innings in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Rockies, allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
The 35-year-old turned in his second seven-inning scoreless effort in his last three starts while also recording six strikeouts for the second straight outing. Wainwright was able to keep the ball down consistently and avoid the thin air of Coors, notching 10 groundball outs overall, which marked the third time in the last four trips to the mound that he's hit double digits in that category. After a couple of rocky starts to open the month, Wainwright has compiled an 0.44 ERA, .169 BAA, .217 wOBA and 0.98 WHIP over the 20.1 innings encompassing his last three starts. He'll look to keep it going as the calendar flips to June when he takes on the Dodgers at home next Thursday.

Wainwright (4-3) gave up an earned run on five hits and three walks over 6.1 innings in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Giants. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Wainwright notched 13 swinging strikes on his way to his second consecutive strong performance. Factoring in his blanking of the Cubs over seven innings last Sunday, the veteran right-hander has surrendered just one earned run over his last 13.1 innings. His control does continue to be a problem, however, as he's now issued at least three free passes in all four May starts. Wainwright will try to get a handle on his location and rack up another victory when he takes on the Rockies at Coors Field next Friday.

Wainwright (3-3) pitched seven shutout innings, allowing four runs and four walks while striking out three in Sunday's win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Wainwright worked around the zone, throwing just 56 of 102 pitches for strikes, but was effectively wild as he earned his first quality start of 2017. The 35-year-old out-dueled Jake Arrieta to push the Cardinals past the defending champions for a second straight day. Wainwright's ERA still sits at an unsightly 5.31, but at least Sunday was a step in the right direction. The veteran will make his next start Sunday against the Giants.

Wainwright gave up four runs on four hits and three walks over 5.1 innings in a no-decision against the Marlins on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
He was lucky that his bats woke up late and rescued him from taking the loss he rightfully deserved. Wainwright has now given up four runs in three straight starts, leaving his ERA at 6.37 and his WHIP at 1.87. The optimistic look at the 35-year-old's stats says that he's been very unlucky -- he's sitting on an absurd .422 BABIP, and his FIP and xFIP are a near-identical 3.79 and 3.78, respectively. The realistic look says that he got hit around pretty darn well last year too, so even if he's due for positive regression, Wainwright's days as a top fantasy starter are most likely in the past. He's just a face in the crowd of mediocre arms with more downside than upside.

Wainwright didn't factor into the decision in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Brewers but gave up four earned runs on 10 hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander delivered a whopping 103 pitches despite lasting just five frames and surrendered plenty of hard contact. All four runs surrendered came courtesy of extra-base hits, with Keon Broxton touching up Wainwright for both a double and home run. The 35-year-old's control had been sharp his last two times out, as he'd issued just one free pass over the 11.1 innings encompassing that pair of starts. However, Thursday's 10 hits marked the third time in six trips to the mound that Wainwright hit double digits in that category, and the no-decision he took sapped the momentum of a modest two-start win streak. He'll look to right the ship in a Tuesday start on the road versus the Marlins.

Wainwright won't make his scheduled start Wednesday against the Brewers after the game was postponed due to rain.
EDGE Analysis
The Cardinals have yet to announce a make-up date for the game. The team also relayed that the start time for Thursday's series finale would be pushed back from 1:45 p.m. EST to 7:15 p.m. EST. Though manager Mike Matheny has yet to confirm his rotation plans in light of the postponement, it's likely that the Cardinals will just push every pitcher in their rotation back one day, so Wainwright is expected to pitch Thursday against the Brewers.

Wainwright (2-3) gave up nine hits on four earned runs and a walk over 6.1 innings in Thursday's 8-4 victory over the Blue Jays in the nightcap of a double-header.
EDGE Analysis
Wainwright hit the 100-pitch mark for the second straight start while going the longest he had in any of his five starts. It was the veteran righty's second consecutive win as well, and he's now lowered his ERA from 7.24 to 6.12 during that stretch. The 35-year-old right-hander pitched to plenty of contact -- notching only five swinging strikes -- but turned in another solid effort after a couple of shaky appearances earlier in April. He'll look to continue the positive momentum in a home start against the potent Brewers offense next Tuesday.

Wainwright (1-3) allowed two runs on six hits while striking out nine over five innings in Friday's 6-3 win over the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
He also provided himself with all the offense he would need on the night, going 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and four RBI in total. Wainwright is still struggling with his efficiency -- he needed 100 pitches (64 strikes) to barely qualify for the win Friday, and he has yet to throw a pitch in the sixth inning through four starts this season -- but this dominant showing definitely seems like a step in the right direction for the 35-year-old. He'll next take the mound Thursday at home against the Blue Jays.

Wainwright (0-3) allowed four runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out four batters through 4.2 innings during Sunday's loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Considering he allowed 12 baserunners, Wainwright was lucky to surrender just four runs. The 35-year-old veteran is coming off his worst season (4.26 ERA and 3.93 FIP) since establishing himself as a starter in 2007, and 2017 hasn't looked promising, either. Wainwright struggled to induce groundballs (43.8 percent) and allowed a career-high 11.8 home run-to-fly ball rate in 2016, and there has been no improvement through three starts this year with 41.7 percent and 13.8 percent marks, respectively.
