Oller coughed up three runs in the third inning before Ernie Clement smacked a solo homer in the fourth. Oller still picked up a fairly easy win as the Marlins exploded for 15 runs. Since his last win Aug. 25, he was 0-3 with a 5.00 ERA over a five-start stretch. He posted a 5.30 ERA over 52.2 innings between Triple-A Columbus and Triple-A Jacksonville. Oller then produced a 5.31 ERA with a 36:22 K:BB through 42.1 MLB innings.

Oller came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 6-2 loss to Atlanta, giving up two runs on eight hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out seven.

The right-hander fell one out short of his second quality start as a Marlin, getting lifted after 92 pitches (61 strikes). Oller has given the beleaguered Miami rotation consistent innings, but that's about it -- he's lasted at least five frames in six of his seven outings, but he's walked multiple batters in all seven en route to a 5.06 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 33:20 K:BB through 37.1 innings. Oller lines up to make his final start of the season on the road next weekend in Toronto.

Oller blanked the Nationals through three innings but surrendered four consecutive hits in the fourth frame as part of a two-run inning. Then, James Wood tagged Oller for a solo shot in the fifth. Oller has taken the loss in three consecutive starts, yielding 13 runs with a 10:10 K:BB across 15.1 innings. He's on track to face Atlanta next time out.

After allowing two runs in the first inning, Oller would hold the Pirates off the board over his subsequent three frames. However, the right-hander would give up a four spot in the fifth, capped by an Andrew McCutchen three-run homer. The 29-year-old Oller has now dropped back-to-back outings, allowing 10 runs in that span (10.1 innings) after giving up just one run over 11.1 innings in his previous two starts. Overall, Oller sports a 5.40 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP and 24:16 K:BB across 26.2 innings with Miami this year. He's currently lined up for a road matchup with the Nationals this weekend in his next outing.

Oller held the Phillies to just one run through five innings but ran into trouble in the sixth, allowing a solo home run to Bryson Stott before the next two batters reached base, both of whom scored after he was pulled from the game. Oller coughed up a season-high 10 baserunners, and he's walked 13 batters through 21.2 innings. While the walk rate is an issue for Oller, the 14 hits he's allowed this season are a major improvement over his previous big-league stints. His next start is set to come in a much more favorable matchup as he's slated to take on the Pirates in Pittsburgh.

EDGE Analysis

Oller threw 53 of 90 pitches for strikes to earn his first quality start since Aug. 27, 2022. His strong effort went to waste when Mike Baumann allowed three runs in the eighth inning, denying Oller his second win of the year. Oller is now at a 3.31 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB over 16.1 innings. He's tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Phillies in what's likely to be a challenging matchup.

Oller limited the damage to an RBI single by Christian Bethancourt in the second inning. This was a much better start for Oller compared to his major-league season debut Monday versus Arizona, in which he yielded five runs over 4.2 innings. He's now at a 5.23 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB through 10.1 innings. Oller is likely safe to pencil in for at least one more start, as the Marlins aren't expected to get any of their injured starters back before the end of the month. He's lined up for a road outing at San Francisco.

Oller is scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Cubs at loanDepot Park.

EDGE Analysis

Despite being roughed up for five earned runs while allowing nine baserunners over 4.2 innings in his Marlins debut Monday against the Diamondbacks, Oller will be awarded a second turn through the rotation. Oller had earned the call-up to Miami after posting a 2.70 ERA and 0.94 WHIP over his last five outings at Triple-A Jacksonville, but he's still likely to have a short leash in the big-league rotation if he struggles again Saturday.
