Oller (1-5) gave up four earned runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out one over five-plus innings to take the loss in a 7-3 defeat against the Giants on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Oller came into the game on the heels of a six-strikeout performance, but he took a step backward by giving up four runs and striking out only one batter. The rookie right-hander got himself into trouble early by issuing three free passes in the first inning, including one that resulted in a run. He later gave up a two-run blast in the sixth inning before being pulled without recording an out in the frame. Oller's xSLG and xERA/xwOBA are in the lowest percentile of all pitchers according to Baseball Savant, and he wears an ERA of 7.63 in 13 appearances this season.

Oller gave up four earned runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out six over 6.1 innings to take the loss in a 4-1 defeat against the White Sox on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Oller managed six strikeouts against the White Sox but he received little run support and is stuck at one win on the season despite making seven starts. The silver lining for Oller is that the outing was his best start of the year and his ERA has now dropped slightly to 7.68. The 27-year-old right hander will look to build some momentum in his next start which tentatively lines up for Sunday versus the Giants.

Oller (1-3) earned the victory over Houston on Monday, pitching five-plus innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out four batters.
EDGE Analysis
Oller gave up a run in the first inning on a solo homer by Jeremy Pena, but he settled down and held Houston scoreless in the following three frames. The Astros added another run against him in the fifth and put the first two runners on base against him in the sixth, at which point Oller was pulled. Though those two runners eventually came around to score, the right-hander got enough support from his offense to end up with the first win of his major-league career. Oller's ERA still sits at an unappealing 8.07 on the campaign, and it's unclear if his so-so start Monday will enable him to keep his tenuous spot in the rotation.

Oller is scheduled to start Monday's home game against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Oakland inserted Oller into the rotation for its final game before the All-Star break July 17 in Houston, with the rookie allowing three earned runs across 4.1 innings in a no-decision. The right-hander enters Monday's contest with an 8.56 ERA and 1.98 WHIP across 27.1 innings on the season, so he may need a respectable showing in his rematch with the Astros to ensure he picks up additional turns in the rotation. Oakland has fellow pitching prospects Adrian Martinez, Jared Koenig and Zach Logue waiting in the wings at Triple-A Las Vegas as potential replacements in the rotation if Oller can't get the job done.

Oller allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three over 4.1 innings Sunday in a 4-3 win in Houston. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Oller struggled in the first and fifth innings, giving up homers in each frame. In between those innings, he allowed two hits and fanned three batters. It was the first big-league start for the 27-year-old since giving up eight runs on May 14. He was recalled from Triple-A before the outing after pitching well as a starter in the minors with a 3.69 ERA over seven starts. In the majors, however, he now has a 10.89 ERA in 19 innings across five starts.

Oller was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas and will start Sunday's contest against the Astros, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Oller will return to the big leagues after being optioned to Las Vegas on June 30, returning to start the Athletics' final game before the All-Star break. The 27-year-old owns a 9.00 ERA and 2.04 WHIP over 23 innings this season, but in the month of June he was able to compile a 3.24 ERA and 1.80 WHIP over 8.1 frames in five appearances. Jared Koenig was optioned to Triple-A on Sunday to open a roster spot for Oller.

Oller was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander posted a 3.24 ERA and 1.80 WHIP in 8.1 innings over his five relief appearances after being recalled by the Athletics in early June. However, he'll head back to the minors as part of a move to make room for Adrian Martinez on the active roster.

Oller recorded his first hold in a loss to the Yankees on Monday, allowing two runs (one earned) on three walks over 1.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
After working around a pair of walks to get out of the bottom of the sixth unblemished, Oller put on another couple of hitters on before exiting with one out in the seventh. The right-hander was eventually charged with two runs when those runners came around to score on A.J. Puk's watch, meaning Oller has now allowed at least one earned run in seven of his eight appearances.

Oller has allowed an earned run on five hits and two walks over four innings across two appearances since his promotion from Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Oller was demoted to the Aviators on May 16 after posting an 0-3 record, 12.27 ERA and 2.18 WHIP across four starts with the Athletics. The young right-hander appears to have worked out some kinks on the farm, however, as he's put together some quality multi-inning work in his first two appearances since being recalled. Despite the encouraging early returns, Oller is almost certainly going to remain in a low-leverage role for the foreseeable future.

Oller was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Oller worked exclusively in the rotation in the minors over the last three seasons, and his first four major-league appearances came as a starter. He posted a 12.27 ERA and 2.18 WHIP in 14.2 innings over his four starts with the Athletics in 2022, and it seems likely that he'll serve as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen now that he's back with the major-league club. Even if the right-hander pitches out of the bullpen for now, he should be one of the top options to fill in as a starter if needed.
