Eaton again bats second in the Nats lineup Friday against the Phillies, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
He's occupied the two-hole in all four games so far, as manager Dusty Baker seems to like Eaton there. Hitting first or second looks like his best fit for the Nats, and Eaton -- especially in the runs scored column -- should benefit from Washington's deep lineup.

Eaton will bat second against the Marlins on Wednesday, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Even with Anthony Rendon (leg) returning to the lineup, Eaton remains in the two-hole between Trea Turner and Bryce Harper. Manager Dusty Baker suggested throughout the spring that he could bat Eaton as low as sixth, but the skipper seems to be coming around to the idea of keeping Eaton near the top of the order. Eaton went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and a stolen base on Opening Day.

Eaton went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, a run scored and a stolen base in Monday's 4-2 win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Hitting second in the order behind Trea Turner, Eaton swiped second base on the back end of a double steal in the first inning, a preview of the mayhem the duo could cause on the basepaths if manager Dusty Baker keeps them both at the top of his batting order. Eaton's career high in steals for a season is only 18, but he's in a good spot to eclipse that number in his first season with the Nats.

Eaton will start in center field and bat second in the order for Monday's game against the Marlins, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eaton served as the White Sox's leadoff hitter in 119 of his 154 starts last season, but he'll move down a spot in the order with his new team, as manger Dusty Baker turns to speed merchant Trea Turner to set the table for what projects to be a productive Nationals offense. While Eaton may see his running opportunities decline with the move to the Nationals, he'll have a legitimate chance at cracking the 100-run barrier for the first time in his career while he's nestled between Turner and Bryce Harper in the lineup.

Eaton went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, his first of the spring, in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
He's hitting just .250 (6-for-24) so far in his first spring in Florida, but Eaton has been making plenty of contact, only striking out twice. Expect the hits to start falling in for the career .284 hitter once Opening Day rolls around, if not sooner.

Eaton hit sixth during Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals, going 0-for-2.
EDGE Analysis
Nationals manager Dusty Baker seems committed to keeping Trea Turner in the leadoff spot, but hasn't yet figured out what to do with Eaton. His fantasy value would take a noticeable hit if he ends up batting lower in the order, with the likes of Ryan Zimmerman and Matt Wieters to drive him in instead of Bryce Harper and Daniel Murphy, but there's still a long way to go until Opening Day.

Eaton will hit second behind Trea Turner in the Nationals' Grapefruit League opener Saturday against the Mets, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nats manager Dusty Baker made it clear that he hasn't decided on an Opening Day batting order, but Eaton will most likely hit first or second during the regular season. Given the speed the team will feature at the top of their order and the green lights that will come with it, Eaton could be in line for his first 20-steal season in 2017.

Eaton's spot in the Nationals' batting order is still up in the air, The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
He primarily hit leadoff for the White Sox, and his career .357 OBP would seem to make that the logical spot for Eaton, but Trea Turner made a huge impact last season as the Nats' leadoff hitter and may be tough to dislodge. Hitting Eaton second would then set up a batting order with three straight left-handed hitters, however, as he'd be followed by Bryce Harper and Daniel Murphy, something manager Dusty Baker would like to avoid. The logical solution would be to hit Eaton first and Turner second, but it remains to be seen whether Baker reaches the same conclusion by the end of spring training. If Eaton does hit at or near the top of the order, the 28-year-old would be primed for his first season with 100-plus runs scored.

Eaton was traded to the Nationals on Wednesday in exchange for pitching prospects Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez and Dane Dunning, FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eaton is a quiet superstar, or at least he was last year, posting a 6.0 fWAR. A lot of that value comes on defense, but he was no slouch with the bat, hitting .284/.362/.428 with 14 home runs, 91 runs, 59 RBI and 14 steals. His on-base skills and speed should allow him to hit near the top of the Nationals' lineup, which should allow him to once again challenge for 100 runs in 2017. Eaton is under team control through the 2021 season.

Eaton is rumored to be the subject of trade talks with Toronto, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Jays are looking to acquire a left-hand hitting leadoff man with a strong OBP, and Eaton fits that description perfectly. In 2016, the outfielder played in a career-high 157 games while slashing .284/.363/.428. Post All-Star break, Eaton hit .301 with an .841 OPS, both well above his career marks of .284 and .771, respectively. The 27-year-old still has three seasons remaining on the five-year $23.5 million deal he signed with the White Sox in 2015, which also includes a team option for 2020-2021. With the Sox floundering, there is a legitimate chance the club may be willing to hit the reset button this off season and move some pieces.
