Glencross has announced that he will retire at the age of 32, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
EDGE Analysis
A related report suggests that Glencross made the decision to hang up his skates in order to spend more time with his family, and the winger doesn't see himself playing in Europe. His NHL career comes to a close after playing for the Ducks, Blue Jackets, Oilers, Flames and Capitals, posting 134 goals and 141 assists through 507 regular-season games.

Glencross was released from his professional tryout offer with the Avalanche Monday, New York Daily NewsNHL.com's Rick Sadowski reports.
EDGE Analysis
Glencross has had an eventful preseason. He initially signed a PTO with the Maple Leafs, but after failing to secure a roster spot with Toronto, he signed a PTO with Colorado. Now that he's been released from his PTO with the Avalanche, he'll likely need to wait until the season gets under way and the injury bug sets in before getting another look with an NHL club. The 32-year-old winger tallied 35 points in 71 games with Calgary and Washington last season.

Glencross is scheduled to play in Tuesday's preseason game against the Flames, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 32 year-old veteran signed a PTO contract with the Avalanche on Monday and will meet up with the team on Tuesday in Calgary. It's a convenient transition for Glencross who lives in Calgary and played for the Flames for six and a half seasons before being sent to Washington. It should also be noted that Glencross played with current Avs', Jerome Iginla and Alex Tanguay during his tenure in Calgary, although neither Iginla nor Tanguay will be playing in Tuesday's preseason game.

Glencross will join with the Avalanche on a Professional Tryout.
EDGE Analysis
Glencross was released by the Maple Leafs on Sunday after failing to earn a contract with them, but he'll receive a second shot with the Avalanche. However, it's possible that Jack Skille's injury could be more severe than initially thought. If that's the case, Glencross could stand a decent shot at snagging a roster spot out of training camp.

Glencross was released from his professional tryout contract on Sunday, the Canadien Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Glencross split 71 games between the Flames and Capitals last season, finishing with 12 goals and 22 assists. The 32-year-old veteran looked to have a solid shot at making the opening night roster, but Glencross instead has been sent packing. Considering the experience he has, he may very well get a shot from another NHL team, otherwise expect him to sign with an AHL team in the meantime.

Glencross signed a professional tryout contract with the Maple Leafs on Wednesday, Andrew Walker of the Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Unless the Maple Leafs feel compelled to carry wing prospects Kasperi Kapanen and Connor Brown on the Opening Night roster, Glencross stands a good chance to break camp with the big club. Though no NHL team was willing to pony up a huge contract for the 32-year-old, his ample NHL experience and ability to provide some scoring punch on the third or fourth line is a valuable skill. In 71 games between the Flames and Capitals last season, Glencross notched 13 goals, 22 assists, and finished with a collective plus-2 rating.

Glencross scored his first NHL playoff goal in Friday's Game 5 loss to the Rangers. It was also the first point of the 2015 playoffs for Glencross, who logged just 10:12 of ice time in the loss. While he's a former 26-goal-scorer, the 32-year-old has taken on a reduced role with Washington and is currently skating on the fourth line. He knows how to put the puck in the net, but given the fact he's seeing so few minutes, don't expect impressive totals.

Glencross is slated to suit up for Monday's Game 7 against the Islanders, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports. With Glencross, who has yet to record a point in three postseason contests, poised to re-join the Caps' lineup Monday, Michael Latta is candidate to be scratched for the contest.

Glencross will be a healthy scratch for Tuesday's Game 4 against the Islanders, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports. Coach Barry Trotz decided to mix up his lineup with the Capitals trailing 2-1 in the series entering Game 4. Glencross, who failed to produce a point and managed only four shots on goal across the first three games, will exit the lineup along with the injured Eric Fehr, while youngsters Andre Burakovsky and Michael Latta join the bottom-six ranks.

Glencross netted an assist in Washington's 4-2 win over Carolina on Tuesday. Acquired from the Calgary at the trade deadline to provide more secondary scoring, Glencross has struggled in his first few weeks as a Capital, and now finds himself on the fourth line with Michael Latta and Tom Wilson. The assist gives him 35 points on the season, but is his only point in the last six games. With reduced ice time, the pending unrestricted free agent will need to shift into a higher gear if he is to provide the Capitals the meaningful support they need, and the long-term contract he desires at the season's end.
