Glencross scored his first goal as a Capital on Thursday, potting the team's lone tally on a first-period power play in a 2-1 loss to Minnesota. He went minus-2 without a point in his Washington debut, so it's nice to see Glencross turn in a better effort on his second try. Still, he remains a fairly low-end fantasy option, as his minutes will remain limited -- the winger skated a modest 14:02 in this game.

Glencross practiced with Evgeny Kuznetsov and Troy Brouwer on the team's second line during Monday's practice, Alex Prewitt of The Washington Post reports. After being acquired from the Flames over the weekend for a pair of 2015 draft choices, the Saskatchewan native appears poised to start on the team's second line. While this may change, speculation that Glencross was acquired to play with Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom on the top line has yet to be justified, but keep an eye on this situation moving forward, as the streaky forward has some sleeper value in the closing weeks of the season.

The Flames have traded Glencross to the Capitals, TSN.ca reports. Per the report, the Caps will send the Flames second and third-round picks in the 2015 NHL Draft in exchange for Glencross, who was in the final year of his contract with Calgary. The 32-year-old winger, who had recorded nine goals and 28 points in 53 games with the Flames to date, bolsters the Caps' depth up front for the NHL stretch run, with the immediate effect of the deal on Glencross' fantasy value set to hinge on who his new linemates are.

The Flames asked Glencross to make a list of teams he would be willing to join in a trade, FAN 960's Dean Molberg reports.It sounds as if both parties believe it's time to move on, with the 32-year-old Glencross set to become an unrestricted free agent after the season. Glencross has zero points through his first 10 games in 2015, but he still has a respectable 26 points in 49 games this season.

It's no surprise Glencross will be able to go Monday, considering that he was able to go through warmups Friday, even though he didn't play in that game. This will be Glencross' first game back since he suffered the injury in mid-January, so monitor his play when he gets on the ice to be sure that he is actually 100 percent healed.

Glencross (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Friday. Though Glencross was on the ice for practices Wednesday and Thursday, coach Bob Hartley suggested the forward would be held out for Friday's game against the Penguins. It's assumed that will still be the case, but with a couple spots open on the 23-man roster, Glencross was activated anyway. He'll retain a day-to-day tag until his return to the lineup is confirmed, but the expectation is that it won't come until Monday's showdown with the Sharks.
