Dominguez signed a minor league contract with the Giants, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dominguez managed just three more strikeouts (20) than walks (17) in 35.2 innings with the Padres in 2016, ultimately leading to his removal from the 40-man roster. The right-hander does feature an intriguing repertoire of pitches and is still just 26, but he's been unable to miss bats or find the strike zone consistently at the major league level.

Dominguez elected free agency after being outrighted to Triple-A by the Padres, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dominguez tossed a career-high 35.2 innings at the big league level for the Padres in 2016, carrying a 5.05 ERA and 1.43 WHIP and striking out batters at a surprisingly low 5.0 K/9 clip despite a big fastball (average velocity: 96.0 mph). The hard-throwing right-hander will likely draw interest in the form of a minor league deal with another club this winter.

Dominguez was called up by the Padres on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Signed to a minor league deal in the offseason, Dominguez spent some time with the big league club in spring training but did not fare well. While he's been OK in terms of run prevention in 27 appearances with Triple-A El Paso this season, walks have been a major issue (25 in 35.2 innings) and he won't be up for long if he can't limit the free passes.

Dominguez (shoulder) has allowed three earned runs over four appearances in 3.2 innings since returning from the 7-day DL at Triple-A Durham. The hard-throwing right-hander missed nearly a month with his injury. If he can get hitters out consistently for a prolonged stretch at Durham, the Rays could make him part of the mix for a middle relief role during the second half of the season.

Dominguez was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Friday, The Tampa Bay Tribune reports. Dominguez managed to gather 4.3 innings of work on three appearances during a three-week stint in the majors. He's a candidate to be recalled at a later date in the season but will likely assume another limited role out of the bullpen if he does eventually rejoin the Rays.

Dominguez was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports. Dominguez had a decent start to the season in the minors, and that in combination with his stats last season and the struggles of Kirby Yates has led to a recall. The youngster will likely be called upon in low leverage situations to begin, but with Jake McGee set to return later in the month, it's possible his stay with the Rays will be short.

Dominguez has been optioned to Triple-A Durham by the Rays. The hard-throwing right-hander may be among the first relievers brought up when injuries strike the Rays this season, but he'll likely work on shoring up his control in the minors throughout April. Dominguez tossed just three innings for the Rays in Grapefruit League play, holding the opposition without a hit and posting a 5:1 K:BB.
