Kassian sustained an injury during the Canucks' morning skate and will not be available Tuesday against the Flyers, Dan Murphy of Sporstnet reports. Coach Willie Desjardins alluded to an absence for one of the Canucks' regular skaters following the morning session, and it would seem that Kassian was the player he had in mind. Fortunately, the Canucks will get winger Alex Burrows (lower body) back from injury Tuesday, so it's seems likely that he'll assume Kassian's top-line spot next to the Sedins. Kassian will be listed as day-to-day ahead of Thursday's match versus the Blue Jackets.

Kassian accrued 24 penalty minutes in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Maple Leafs. Kassian was held off the scoresheet in his 7:43 of ice time, but he more than atoned for it by raking in the PIM. All four of the winger's penalties came in the second period, with the bulk of the minutes coming during a skirmish with the Leafs' Dion Phanuef. Most of Kassian's value these days lies in his top-line appointment, but his roots as an agitator will give him some utility in more than just the scoring categories.

Kassian was the hero Monday, potting the game-winning goal with less than four minutes remaining in regulation as the Canucks beat the Ducks 2-1 at home. The goal brings Kassian into double-digits (10) for the season, to go with a very modest six assists and 57 PIM in 40 games.

Kassian (illness) will return to the lineup Thursday against the Coyotes, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 reports. Kassian was forced to skip Tuesday's game against the Sharks after coming down with a stomach flu. He received an IV to treat the illness, which apparently was enough to aid his recovery. The winger assumed his usual spot on the top line with the Sedin twins, an arrangement that should make him an attractive, cost-effective play in daily formats, particularly against an Arizona squad that ranks 30th in goals allowed.

Kassian is dealing with a case of the flu and will not play Tuesday against the Sharks. It's a tough break for Kassian, who was starting to gain momentum in deeper leagues and daily formats due to his plum appointment on the top line next to the Sedin twins. Assuming the illness doesn't prove too debilitating, he'll have a chance at returning to action Thursday against the Coyotes, but there's no guarantee the top-line spot will still be waiting for him at that point.

Kassian potted a power-play goal in Sunday's win over the Islanders. Skating on the top line, Kassian has scored in back-to-back games and has recorded six goals and eight points in his last eight games. While he had a tough start, Kassian appears revitalized and could be worth a look in deeper leagues down the stretch. If he stays on the top line with the Sedin twins, there is no reason the 24-year-old can't keep producing.

Kassian skated on the top line Friday, scoring twice in a loss to the Devils.A great outing for Kassian, who has recorded five goals and eight points in his last seven games. If he sticks on the top line, the 24-year-old could be worth looking at in deeper formats. It's worth noting that last season after a slow start, Kassian went on to lead the team in second-half scoring. He has potential, but will need to remain in a top-six role to have fantasy value.

Kassian assisted on two of Shawn Matthias' three goals in Friday's win over the Bruins. You think this guy has been playing with some motivation lately? Irked after he was made a healthy scratch for three consecutive games earlier this month, Kassian returned to the lineup Feb. 7 and has responded with three goals, two assists, and a plus-3 rating over four contests. Even if he doesn't end up sticking with Vancouver by the time the trade deadline passes, he'll surely net a better haul for the team in light of his hot play recently.

Kassian scored a goal for the third straight game in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Blackhawks.A healthy scratch for three games prior to his return to the lineup Feb. 7, Kassian seems to have reestablished himself as a regular player for the Canucks as a result of the scoring surge. He's benefited from some good fortune, though, as his three goals have come on only four shot attempts. That 75 percent shooting rate will come crashing down quickly, and so too will Kassian's scoring totals.
