Bertuzzi was promoted to the majors Monday.
EDGE Analysis
In the minors, Bertuzzi is off to a strong start with two goals and a pair of helpers through nine games. It is unclear whether or not the 20-year-old will make his NHL debut on this stint or if he is simply there to provide some depth on the 23-man roster. The winger was brought in following Detroit's decision to place Thomas Vanek (hip) on IR.

Bertuzzi was among eight skaters assigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Saturday, Ansar Khan of MLive reports.
EDGE Analysis
With one preseason game remaining on the docket, the Red Wings shuttled Bertuzzi and fellow forward prospects Louis-Marc Aubry, Kyle Criscuolo, Matthew Lorito, and Evgeny Svechnikov to the minors, along with defensemen Joe Hicketts, Nathan Paetsch, and Robbie Russo. One could make the argument that Bertuzzi is closer to an NHL job than those other forwards, especially since he turned heads in preseason to the tune of four points (one goal, three assists) in five games.

Bertuzzi contributed a goal, an assist, and two blocked shots in Wednesday's exhibition win over the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Bertuzzi is a ferocious two-way player, much like his Uncle Todd, a former NHLer who played with the Red Wings for parts of six seasons. The younger Bertuzzi was selected in the second round (58th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, and he has scouts excited about his potential. Now 21 years old, the winger enjoyed a phenomenal campaign with the Guelph Storm of the OHL in 2014-15, essentially coming out of nowhere to produce 43 goals, 55 assists, and a plus-26 rating in only 68 games. His scoring tapered off as a member of the AHL's Griffins last season, but he still managed 133 PIM. This kid certainly has a future in the NHL since he's figured out how to make an impact on both ends of the ice.

Bertuzzi signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Red Wings on Friday, Helene St. James reports.
The nephew of former Detroit forward Todd Bertuzzi, Tyler was selected in the second round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. The 18-year-old has shown a physical style with a dash of scoring ability during his time in juniors, but he's still several years away from making an impact in the NHL.

Tyler Bertuzzi scored twice for the Guelph Storm in their 5-2 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings in the Memorial Cup on Saturday.
Bertuzzi, a second-round pick of the Red Wings from the 2013 draft, was a plus-two with two penalty minutes as well. The 19-year-old already has more goals (10) in the playoffs than he had all regular season (nine). He's coming off a season in which he tallied 34 points in 29 games, adding to that with 17 more in the postseason.

Tyler Bertuzzi is getting to skate with his uncle Todd at Detroit's training camp.
Tyler is the son of Todd Bertuzzi's sister, Angela, and he was chosen by the Red Wings in the second round of the 2013 draft. "It was a neat experience, for sure," Todd said. "He looked pretty good out there. Sometimes when you're younger, you get running around a little bit, but I thought he had some nice plays and did well." It would be nice to see them play on the same line during the preseason. Tyler will likely be back in the OHL this season.
