Bertuzzi contributed a goal, an assist, and two blocked shots in Wednesday's exhibition win over the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Bertuzzi is a ferocious two-way player, much like his Uncle Todd, a former NHLer who played with the Red Wings for parts of six seasons. The younger Bertuzzi was selected in the second round (58th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, and he has scouts excited about his potential. Now 21 years old, the winger enjoyed a phenomenal campaign with the Guelph Storm of the OHL in 2014-15, essentially coming out of nowhere to produce 43 goals, 55 assists, and a plus-26 rating in only 68 games. His scoring tapered off as a member of the AHL's Griffins last season, but he still managed 133 PIM. This kid certainly has a future in the NHL since he's figured out how to make an impact on both ends of the ice.
