Bertuzzi is expected to start the 2017-18 campaign with the Red Wings, rather than AHL Grand Rapids, the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Having claimed the 2017 Calder Cup MVP honors with the Griffins, Bertuzzi looks ready for hockey's biggest stage. The 22-year-old dropped 37 points (12 goals, 25 assists) in 48 regular-season games to complement a point-per-game average on the way to the minor-league franchise's second Cup. He plays an agitating style that should invite an abundance of PIM, and Bertuzzi projects to be a quality NHL scorer once he gets enough experience at the NHL level. Consider grabbing him in the late rounds of drafts in case he steals enough playing time from the likes of Darren Helm, Luke Glendening or Luke Witkowski.

Bertuzzi fashioned 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists) with AHL Grand Rapids in the 2017 Calder Cup finals, leading to the coveted distinction of series MVP, MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Griffins defeated Syracuse 4-2 in the Cup finals series, with Bertuzzi providing the game-tying tally in Game 6. Nabbed by the Red Wings in the second round (58th overall) of the 2013 draft, Bertuzzi has been involved in postseason play every season since starting juniors with OHL Guelph Storm in 2011-12. Look for the fierce competitor to compete for a full-time role with the Red Wings this fall.

With five goals and six assists, Bertuzzi is averaging over a point per game for AHL Grand Rapids in the 2017 Calder Cup playoffs.
EDGE Analysis
Bertuzzi seems completely unfazed by minor-league competition, but that's nothing new for the power winger. He's accumulated 31 points in 33 playoff games since his first taste of such action in the spring of 2015. Much like his Uncle Todd -- who played in the NHL from 1995-2014, with the Wings being his final NHL stop -- Bertuzzi is an incredibly fierce competitor, and you can expect him to rack up plenty of PIM once he gets accustomed to life at hockey's highest level. Speculation is running rampant that he could break camp with the Red Wings this fall.

Bertuzzi was reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Wednesday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per NHL guidelines, Bertuzzi was required to be activated off injured reserve prior to being sent back the Griffins. The 21-year-old has appeared in just seven games for the Red Wings this season and will likely benefit more from playing in the minors than sitting in the press box in Detroit. Expect the winger to be on the short list of potential call-ups should the need arise.

Bertuzzi will be sidelined 3-to-5 weeks with a high ankle sprain, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bertuzzi was already placed on injured reserve by the team, but now has a clear timeline for a return to action. Considering how bad the injury could have been, the winger missing just three weeks is certainly a silver lining for a banged up Detroit squad. In the meantime, Tomas Jurco was recalled from a conditioning assignment and should serve as Bertuzzi's replacement on the depth chart.

Bertuzzi (leg) was placed on seven-day injured reserve Monday, The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bertuzzi is one of eight Red Wings currently on injured reserve. The best teams find a way to fight through that adversity -- Tampa Bay's 2015-16 squad is a perfect example -- but to some degree, the injury pile helps explain why Detroit's club has struggled to a 4-5-1 record over the last 10 games. Tomas Jurco, who had offseason back surgery, just received a recall from AHL Grand Rapids following a conditioning assignment, so he'll essentially replace Bertuzzi in the bottom six.

Bertuzzi (leg) and defenseman Brendan Smith (knee) are set to be reevaluated in the next couple of days after sustaining injuries in Saturday's game against the Canadiens, MLive.com reports. "We know they are out a bit," GM Ken Holland said. "Not sure how long."
EDGE Analysis
Bertuzzi appeared to injure his right leg/foot after getting hit by Alexei Emelin in the second period. He left the game after 7:55 of ice time and reportedly ended up on crutches with his foot stabilized in a boot. You know your team has been ravaged by the injury bug when replacements like Bertuzzi -- originally called up to fill in for Darren Helm (upper body) -- are hurt. Detroit currently has 12 healthy forwards and defensemen, which is the bare minimum at each spot. Expect the club to recall a player or two ahead of Tuesday's home game against the Stars.

Bertuzzi exited Saturday's contest with the Canadiens with a right leg injury and will not return.
EDGE Analysis
Bertuzzi's right leg bent in an awkward position while absorbing a hit from Alexei Emelin and the left winger headed to the locker room promptly thereafter. Bertuzzi had been averaging 8:39 of ice time in three games since his recall on Nov. 16 so even if he does miss a few games, it shouldn't have any impact on fantasy owners as he wouldn't have been a good play anyway.

Bertuzzi was promoted from AHL Grand Rapids on Wednesday night.
EDGE Analysis
Bertuzzi was reassigned just Tuesday, but the news that Darren Helm (upper body) was placed on long-term injured reserve opened up another spot on the club's roster. Bertuzzi drew in three games during his latest stint with the Red Wings, but saw limited ice time and didn't manage a point over three games. It's unlikely he will see heavy usage this time around either.

Bertuzzi was reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Tuesday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Red Wings are expecting Thomas Vanek (hip) to return next Sunday, and the gritty Steve Ott is capable of holding down the fort on the fourth line in the meantime. Bertuzzi is a true competitor with speed as well as scoring upside, but he only averaged 9:58 of ice time in his first three NHL games and stands to benefit from heavier playing time in the minors.
