Bertuzzi will skip the AHL playoffs to afford time for additional off-ice training, the Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The MVP of the 2017 Calder Cup playoffs is expected to command a one-way NHL contract this summer, as Bertuzzi's three-year, entry-level contract with the Red Wings is about to expire. In other words, it's safe to say that he'll be up in the NHL for good after posting 24 points (seven goals, 17 assists) through 48 games as a rookie this season. He's built up the reputation of being an agitating scoring winger, and the additional training this summer figures to make him even more difficult for opponents to deal with.

Bertuzzi's rookie campaign consisted of seven goals and 17 assists through 48 games. He also notched a pair of power-play points having averaged 1:26 of ice time in that spot.
EDGE Analysis
A wrist injury prevented Bertuzzi from cracking the Opening Night roster, but given that he'd won the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy as playoff MVP for AHL Grand Rapids in 2017, there was nothing more for the gritty scoring winger to prove in the minors, so he joined the parent club in early December and never looked back. Bert packs plenty of promise offensively, so we'd consider tabbing him as a sleeper in fantasy drafts this coming fall.

Bertuzzi scored two goals, one on the power play, in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
He also added three shots, a blocked shot and a plus-1 rating. Bertuzzi has only six goals and 23 points in 46 games on the season, but four of those tallies have come in the last six games.

Bertuzzi assisted on all three Red Wings goals in a 5-3 loss to the Sharks on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Bertuzzi has largely performed the role of playmaker this season for the Wings. He's tallied 16 assists in 35 games, as opposed to the mere two goals he's scored. However, the 22-year-old only has a 3.8 shooting percentage, so in the future the rookie should have more luck on that front.

Bertuzzi collected two assists during Tuesday's 6-5 overtime loss to Boston.
EDGE Analysis
This was the rookie's first multi-point showing since Jan. 16, and he recorded just a single goal and four assists through the 20 games in between. There's a lot to like about Bertuzzi's long-term fantasy upside because of his cross-category profile. Additionally, he also appears to be in line for more offensive minutes through the end of the season. Still, it might be wise to take a wait-and-see approach in most seasonal settings.

Bertuzzi will see a significant increase in playing time following Monday's trade that sent Tomas Tatar to the Golden Knights, MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A hard-nosed winger with scoring acumen, Bertuzzi reportedly will accompany Dylan Larkin and Andreas Athanasiou on the second line starting with Wednesday's road game in St. Louis. "Tyler Bertuzzi will increase his minutes by a lot," Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said. "When Tyler first came up and there were injuries I thought he played very well. I thought he slipped a little bit, opened the door for some guys to take his spot, and then didn't get much of an opportunity. I think all Tyler needs is opportunity and he's going to get tons of opportunity." The rookie made a critical mistake against the Islanders on Feb. 9 that saw him pick up a five-minute major and match penalty that culminated in the Wings squandering four consecutive goals to lose the game. However, the 2017 Calder Cup MVP has immense offensive potential, so consider picking him up before he becomes a household name in fantasy leagues abound.

Bertuzzi was reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Monday, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Don't read too much into this. The transaction is likely one of many "paper moves" that happened Monday to make players eligible for the AHL playoffs. Bertuzzi, who has 11 points in 28 games with the Wings, could be recalled as soon as Tuesday.

Bertuzzi picked up an assist and 10 PIM in Friday's 7-6 road loss to the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Bertuzzi picked up a five-minute major and a match penalty for slashing Cal Clutterbuck on the left knee. This proved to be the turning point of the game, as the Islanders proceeded to score four times before the Bertuzzi penalty expired. Known for his fiery playing style, this was a colossal mistake by the rookie, and while this is only speculation, it wouldn't be surprising to see coach Jeff Blashill send him a message in the form of reduced playing time or making him an outright scratch in Sunday's road clash with the Capitals.

Bertuzzi opened the scoring for the Red Wings in their 3-0 road win over the Devils on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Bertuzzi has been operating on Detroit's top line with Dylan Larkin and Andreas Athanasiou, and it's paying significant dividends for the rookie who prides himself on being a net-front pest. The nephew of former Red Wing Todd Bertuzzi is up to nine points (two goals, seven assists) through 13 games, with the lofty production not all that surprising given that he averaged a point per game en route to MVP honors for his fine work in the 2017 Calder Cup playoffs.

Bertuzzi recorded two assists, two shots and four hits through 17:33 of ice time during Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
The two-point showing has the rookie up to a goal and seven helpers through his past nine games, and Bertuzzi appears to have earned a scoring role in short order. Most rookies struggle with game-to-game consistency, so there are likely to be plenty of offensive peaks and valleys in the second half for Bertuzzi. However, his offensive track record at the lower levels and current role make him an intriguing asset moving forward.
