Bertuzzi (leg) and defenseman Brendan Smith (knee) are set to be reevaluated in the next couple of days after sustaining injuries in Saturday's game against the Canadiens, MLive.com reports. "We know they are out a bit," GM Ken Holland said. "Not sure how long."
EDGE Analysis
Bertuzzi appeared to injure his right leg/foot after getting hit by Alexei Emelin in the second period. He left the game after 7:55 of ice time and reportedly ended up on crutches with his foot stabilized in a boot. You know your team has been ravaged by the injury bug when replacements like Bertuzzi -- originally called up to fill in for Darren Helm (upper body) -- are hurt. Detroit currently has 12 healthy forwards and defensemen, which is the bare minimum at each spot. Expect the club to recall a player or two ahead of Tuesday's home game against the Stars.
