Shea Weber played well on both ends of the ice on Tuesday, tallying a powerplay goal and recording 15 PIMs in Nashville's 4-0 victory over Dallas.
Weber received a 10 minute misconduct after fighting with Antoine Roussel. He now has points in four straight, and 14 total on the year. He remains a dual threat, despite his lackluster offensive start. He's a must play in all formats.

It took 15 games and 38 shots on goal, but the Predators Shea Weber finally scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's loss to the Ducks.
The goal, which was the 100th of Weber's career, was just the third point of the campaign for the Nashville blue liner. Coach Barry Trotz is hopeful it will mark the start of an offensive resurgence for the captain."Hopefully that opens the gates," he said. "It's probably not critical that he scored today, but from, I think, from that standpoint, hopefully it'll open some floodgates, because once he scores one, they start to come." We can't completely ignore the struggles he has endured so far, but Weber should still be considered among the top fantasy blue liners around going forward.

Shea Weber recorded his first point of the season on Thursday.
It took him 10 games to accomplish that. Weber's struggles have been amplified by his massive $110 million contract and the fact that it's a shortened season, but he should turn things around. He won't be one of the top offensive defenseman this season, but he should still end up with 20-30 points despite his cold start.

Shea Weber is getting frustrated with his personal struggles through six games.
"I think Webs is a little bit frustrated," Predators coach Barry Trotz said. "He wants to do so well. It's not that he's doing a lot of bad things, but I think there's a little bit of a level of frustration in his game right now that holds him back a little bit." Weber is still pointless this season. Nashville bet heavily on Weber over the summer when they decided to match the Philadelphia Flyers' offer sheet of $110 million over 14 years.

The Predators' payroll looks to be in good shape for the 2013-14 season.
Many clubs could face a cap crunch next year; the league and Players' Association agree that the salary cap should decrease from $70.2, with the NHL asking for $60 million and the NHLPA $65 million. Nashville has $45.4 doled out to 13 players next season, with five restricted free agents to re-sign, the toughest of whom to bring back could be Patric Hornquist. They're also in a good spot if teams have to trade or buy out players because of the cap.

Shea Weber was named as one of the defendants in the NHL's recent lawsuit, but he hasn't read the document.
"They let us know there were certain guys named in their lawsuit," Weber said. "Obviously I'm not focusing on that. I'm focusing on working here with the guys, working hard and getting better every day." If the NHLPA goes through with it's plans to file a disclaimer of interest, then it's possible we'll end up in a scenario where all contracts have been be voided. That would obviously be a huge free-for-all and Weber would be left looking around to see if he can secure a deal as good as his current $110 million, 14-year deal. On that scenario, Weber has no comment.
