Couturier (knee), who skated for the second straight day Tuesday, is targeting a return in the preseason, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
There will be eight possible preseason games for Couturier to draw into before the Flyers travel to Vegas for the Oct. 4 regular-season opener. "I'd like to a play a few games, at least one or two, just to get back into game action before the season," he said. "I'm just going by what they're telling me. They're holding me back a little bit. I feel great. We're being cautious, take it one day at a time, making sure it's completely healed." Expect a much more crowded Couturier bandwagon in fantasy games after he went from 34 points in 2016-17 to 31 goals and 45 assists without missing a regular-season contest last season.

Couturier (knee) skated for the first time Monday since re-injuring his knee, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
While the start of training camp is only days away, Couturier appears to be on track to be ready for the start of the 2018-19 campaign, although his inclusion in the lineup for the first preseason game Sept. 18 would seem to be a long shot. The center is coming off the best season of his career, in which he racked up 31 goals, 45 assists and 14 power-play points (all career highs).

Couturier (Knee) will miss about four weeks with a lower body injury.
EDGE Analysis
While sustaining another MCL setback in late August was not ideal for a player coming off a career-year (31 goals, 45 assists), Couturier is on track to be ready for the Flyers' season opener on Oct. 4.

Couturier re-injured the MCL in his right knee at a "Boot Camp" tournament two weekends ago, the Montreal Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Flyers' eighth overall pick from the 2011 draft collected 31 goals and 45 assists in a full 2017-18 campaign, sailing to career highs and more than doubling his output from the prior season. Couturier originally sustained the MCL injury while facing the Penguins during Round 1 the 2018 playoffs, but he only missed one of six games in that series. At this point, it's unclear if this setback will cut into the Selke Trophy finalist's training-camp time, though he's reportedly back in Philadelphia meeting with team doctors.

Couturier's injury he suffered during practice Tuesday was revealed to be a torn MCL in his right knee, Charlie O'Connor of The Atlantic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite the severe injury Couturier continued to gut it out, and after scoring the game-winning goal in Game 5, he exploded for three goals and two assists for Game 6. Unfortunately, his heroics weren't enough to carry Philadelphia into Game 7, although it's hard to put any of the blame on the Selke Trophy finalist. The injury won't require surgery, but will sideline Couturier from offseason workouts for at least the next four weeks, although barring potential setbacks it appears he'll be ready for the start of training camp.

Couturier (lower body) potted the game-winning goal Friday, as the Flyers avoided being eliminated by the Penguins in Game 5.
EDGE Analysis
Couturier missed Game 4, but the newly minted Selke Trophy finalist toughed it out and played the role of hero in a game that the Flyers absolutely had to win. His goal was a beauty, too, as he lifted the puck from just inside the blue line and sent it directly between Conor Sheary and Brian Dumouin and past netminder Matt Murray. Game 6 is scheduled for Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh.

Couturier (lower body) will dress for Friday's Game 5 against the Penguins, Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Couturier was centering Scott Laughton and Wayne Simmonds during warmups and will slot in there for the contest. It's possible the Flyers are limiting his even strength time on ice by putting him on the third line, allowing him to contribute when they earn a man advantage. Either way, those considering him in daily formats should note that he may not see his usual allotment of ice time because of the shift down the lines.

Couturier (lower body) will be a game-time decision against the Penguins on Friday, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Flyers have been relatively mum about Couturier's status after he was inadvertently upended in a practice session Tuesday and sat out Game 4. With his team down 3-1 in the conference quarterfinals, Couturier should be watched like a hawk leading up to this must-win playoff contest. His 31 goals from the regular season were second only to Claude Giroux (34) among Philly's skaters, and Couturier is a legit special teams weapon as well. If you're depending on him in playoff pools that permits daily lineup changes, consider setting your lineup as late as possible to account for his potential activation.

Couturier (lower body) indicated Thursday that he is considered day-to-day and wouldn't rule out a return for Friday's Game 5 against the Penguins, Bill Meltzer of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Couturier also relayed that he skated both Wednesday and Thursday, but his status for Friday's contest remains up in the air. More information regarding the star pivot's availability should arise on game day, but it's possible official word won't surface until the team takes the ice for pregame warmups. If he remains unavailable, Jordan Weal could draw into the lineup again for the elimination game.

Couturier (lower body) won't be in the lineup for Wednesday's Game 4 against the Penguins, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a huge loss for the Flyers, as Couturier was one of their best players during the regular season, racking up 31 goals and 76 points while averaging a whopping 21:36 of ice time through 82 games. With Couturier unavailable, Philadelphia may opt to move Claude Giroux back to his natural center position for Game 4, even though he's excelled on the wing all season to the tune of 34 goals and 102 points in 82 contests. The Flyers have yet to release any details regarding the severity of Couturier's injury, but the team should provide another update on his status prior to Friday's Game 5 in Pittsburgh.
