Ryan White will likely find himself back in the press box in the near future.
He took a double minor (two roughing minors, one for failing to goad Steve Ott into a fight) in the third period with the Habs up 4-2 that fueled Buffalo's eventual 5-4 comeback win in the shootout. The Sabres scored 25 seconds into it. "It was unacceptable," said head coach Michel Therrien. "That's the third time he has cost us with undisciplined play." From White: "Obviously, it was a selfish play. I thought he went kind of low on me and that's what he does. He's a smart player and I reacted in the wrong way. I cost my teammates another two points." White has played in seven games, and he has a goal and 46 penalty minutes.

Ryan White was a healthy scratch in the Montreal Canadiens' 6-1 win over the Sabres Saturday.
With P.K. Subban back in the lineup, coach Therrien opted to go with 11 forwards and seven defensemen in the lineup. The fourth-line forward has amassed 42 penalty minutes this season but his lack of discipline has been a problem for the team.

Ryan White's double minor in the second period resulted in Ottawa scoring a pair of power-play goals to blow the game wide open.
He was given a minor for roughing and another two minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct. "I was complaining," said White. "I thought he was holding my stick along the boards, but I have to learn to shut up and just go to the box." The two goals the Senators scored gave them a 3-1 lead en route to a 5-1 victory. White finished the contest with nine penalty minutes to give him a league-leading 42 on the year. His teammate, Brandon Prust, is next in line with 41 PIMs.

Ryan White chipped in his first goal of the season in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over New Jersey.
The fourth-line forward has amassed 33 penalty minutes this season to place himself second in the league in that category. However, that total was inflated when he was assessed 27 minutes in the sin bin for jumping Florida's Tomas Fleischmann following a boarding play on defenseman Josh Gorges.

The Montreal Canadiens re-signed Ryan White for one more year.
Bob McKenzie reports that the young forward's deal is worth $687,500. White played 20 games games for the Canadiens in 2011-12, down from 27 in 2010-11. On the other hand, he averaged a career-high 14:31 minutes per game when he did suit up. He only managed three assists last season, however, so he's around more for his rugged style.

Ryan White made his season debut on Wednesday against Boston.
He had sports hernia surgery in October and was eager to make an impression in his first game back, so he picked up a fighting major in the opening period when he dropped the gloves with Bruins blueliner Adam McQuaid. White concluded the match with one shot, one hit and 9:09 of ice time.

Ryan White has been summoned from the minors.
He is expected to attend the team's morning skate and be available for Monday night's clash with Carolina. If White ends up playing against the Hurricanes, it will be his first appearances of the season because of a sports hernia he sustained during training camp.

Ryan White (groin) has been sent down to AHL Hamilton.
White has been sidelined all season due to a sports hernia, but he recently declared himself ready to return. It looks like the Canadiens will have him shake off the rust in the minors before possibly being recalled later this season.

Ryan White (groin) has proclaimed himself 100 percent healthy, but he won't play on Thursday.
Coach Randy Cunneyworth has some concerns about White's conditioning, so a return during the weekend is probably more likely. He aggravated a sports hernia on the second day of training camp and hasn't played since.
