Ryan White (groin) won't make his return to Montreal's lineup on Tuesday night, but he does appear to be close to making his season debut. He worked with the team's penalty kill unit and skated alongside Mathieu Darche and Yannick Weber at practice on Monday. White had five points and 38 penalty minutes in 27 games with the Canadiens last season.

Ryan White has been skating by himself as he recovers from sports hernia surgery. "It's been eight weeks and I feel good," he said. "I'm still rebuilding the strength in my weak leg. I've been seeing a lot of the physio guy over here and he's been doing a good job working with me." White hasn't played for Montreal yet this season due to the injury after skating in 27 games with the big club last year.
