Ryan White is slated to remain in Montreal's lineup Thursday night when the Canadiens open the postseason against Ottawa. He will center the fourth line between Brandon Prust and Travis Moen. The trio will obviously be counted on to bring some physical play to the table and to help keep Senators forward Chris Neil from running wild. White will play instead of Jeff Halpern.

Ryan White has been suspended five games for his illegal check to the head of Philadelphia's Kent Huskins. The incident occurred Monday night and it earned White a match penalty. White has played recklessly this season, but he doesn't have a history of suspensions. In 25 games, he has compiled 48 hits and 67 penalty minutes. He will be eligible to return for Montreal's final regular season match against Toronto on April 27th.

Ryan White is scheduled to have an in-person disciplinary hearing with the league in New York City on Wednesday morning. White is likely facing a major suspension for a hit on Flyers defenseman Kent Huskins. An in-person meeting means the NHL could hand out a suspension exceeding six games for White, who has a history of undisciplined play. We'll update you as soon as we hear the league's decision, but it doesn't sound good for White.

Ryan White received 15 minutes in penalties Monday night against Philadelphia and he'll probably hear from the league for his hit on Flyers defender Kent Huskins. He was assessed a major for the headshot, a major for fighting Kurtis Foster, and a match penalty on the play. White had been a healthy scratch for the past three games entering Monday's contest and he's undisciplined play has landed him in coach Michel Therrien's doghouse this season before. It would be surprising to see him play much for the rest of the year even if he isn't suspended.

Ryan White won't play Saturday because of a lower-body injury. White was a useful source of penalty minutes early in the season, but he had to cut that part out of his game to remain the lineup so he has no fantasy value.

Ryan White got back into Montreal's lineup Monday night for the first time since Feb. 7. He was relegated to coach Michel Therrien's doghouse due to his undisciplined play, but he logged nearly 10 minutes of penalty-free hockey against Carolina in his return to action. White has amassed 46 minutes in the sin bin in just eight games this year, but he kept himself under control on Monday night.

Ryan White is not expected to play Saturday night against Toronto. He will likely be a healthy scratch after taking a number of foolish penalties. White plays on the edge and is a great source for penalty minutes when he plays. But the Canadiens are trying to reign him in a little. That's good and bad for White's fantasy owners. Good, because he may get on the ice again. Bad, because he is less likely to be a valuable source for PIMs.
