Spooner was called up from AHL Providence on Saturday, Joe Haggerty of CSN New England reports.Spooner was called up as insurance for David Krejci (lower body), who is traveling to Chicago for Sunday's game against the Blackhawks. If Krejci is unable to play, Spooner may get the opportunity to make his sixth NHL appearance of the season. He doesn't have any points this season, but he did manage 11 points (all assists) in 23 games last season.

Spooner was assigned AHL Providence on Sunday, the team's official site reports.
Spooner skated in five for the Bruins this season, but failed to score on six shots, recording a minus-2 goal differential and an average of 10:50 of ice time. The 22-year-old winger recorded 46 points (11 goals and 35 assists) over 49 games with AHL Providence last season, and should receive ample playing time with the club. He could see time with the Bruins again if a forward goes down with an injury, but doesn't have much fantasy value either way.

Spooner will serve as a healthy scratch Thursday against the Canadiens.
With the surprising return of Gregory Campbell to Thursday's lineup, Spooner will forfeit his role as the club's fourth-line center. After Thursday's game, Spooner will more than likely return to AHL Providence, where he'll be able to see more consistent ice time to further aid his development.

In advance of Wednesday's game against the Flyers, Spooner was skating on a line with Milan Lucic and Matt Fraser, Joe Haggerty of csnne.com reports.
With fellow center David Krejci out for the Bruins' first three games, Spooner appears in line to see a regular shift for the Bruins early on and thus merits fantasy consideration in deeper leagues out of the gate.

Spooner will be on the Bruins' opening roster in advance of Wednesday's game against the Flyers.
While Spooner's role with the Bruins out of the gate is unclear, he does possess the sort of speed and skill the Bruins could use up front, provided he can hold his own defensively.

Spooner, who was recalled by the Bruins in advance of Friday's preseason game against the Islanders, notched two goals and an assist in the team's 6-1 win, ESPN.com reports.
Spooner, who normally plays center, played left wing Friday, and in the words of coach Claude Julien, "it was one of his best games we've seen him play in a while." Spooner had been sent to AHL Providence on Wednesday, but Friday's strong effort could earn him another look in Saturday's preseason finale against the Red Wings. In any case, Spooner has the sort of speed and offensive ability that the Bruins could use up front, though in order to cement a job with the big club, he'll need to demonstrate added consistency and an ability to hold his own defensively.

Spooner is headed for AHL Providence, the Bruins' official site reports.
The timing of his demotion is a bit of a surprise, but given his speed and skill, Spooner is an obvious candidate for an in-season call-up when injuries hit the Bruins up front.

Spooner scored a goal in Tuesday's preseason opener against the Canadiens, the Bruins' official site reports.
Despite the tally, some of Spooner's defensive lapses in the contest caught coach Claude Julien's eye, an area that the speedy and skilled young forward will need to improve on in order to make the Bruins' roster.
